Good Afternoon, and happy Saturday...
Terry, I hope Hughie mis-calculated, and you are only getting 1 @ $1200, interest free. I understand your urgency, as both the wife's PC and my PC are of the 2012 era, and are showing signs of fatigue. Hope they last a while longer, as I'm going to have to replace the dishwasher, next week.

Willie: Many people in the shore area begin closing their pools by Mid August, while the air temperatures are still running close to 90, because the sun is in a different position, and doesn't warm the water. The backdrop looks better from a distance. The scene will look fine when completed.

I have started work on two additional modules, each 24"x48", which will feature the passenger terminal. I need to construct the terminal to set the level of the benchwork, where the module meets the existing modules.
Terminal 1.jpg

The street level structure runs about 34½" in length with a siding for express cars on one side and truck doors on the other side. Each door will accommodate a 50' REX Express car.
MP54 Train.jpg

Long enough to accommodate this 3 car commuter train using PRR MP54 coaches and a Baldwin RS12.

I haven't spent as much time on the layout as I want, but hopefully that will soon change.

Have a great weekend.

Afternoon All,

Moved furniture today and dumped another 6 lawn bags of useless junk. We also donated the last of Mom's clothing. Tomorrow hopefully SIL will be over to help with the really, really heavy things in the sewing room that have to go upstairs.

Mikey- Another great scene.

Christian- Interesting fire plug. Nice looking box cars.

Dakota- Nice club photos.

Willy- Everything looks good.

TomO- That meme is funny.

Joe- Nice long perspective of your layout.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I was impressed with the birdhouses that Mikey showed us the other day.. I decided to try one.
Willie- I have borrowed several ideas from you, so you are most welcome to use anything I put on the forum.
For what it is worth, I paint the house and roof pieces separately, then glue them together when dry. You can make several birdhouses and make your placement decisions easier.
Thanks for the many pictures you post of your projects.

Mikey- Another great scene.
Curt- I have to figure out some wiring issues on my home layout, so I am working on our club On30 layout once a week trying to get it ready to display for the Holiday show at the children's museum in Birmingham, We are trying to glue everything down this year before moving the sections from the basement.
This is the only way I can share modeling results with the forum.

Things are going really weird here lately. Yesterday, I ordered (and picked up) our weekly groceries from our local grocery emporium. Just now, I was notified my order had been canceled and the money refunded to my credit card, because I hadn't picked it up.
Only 22 more times and that new computer I accidentally ordered will be paid for...

Good evening gang!
Been lurking most of the week, as Hell weeks wind to a close, Help is arriving Tuesday, by Friday all should be normal again at work. Meanwhile I have seen may interesting pics, Keep em coming!!

I have been getting a little time at the bench. I managed to complete a 39 Plymouth, a 50 Chevy Fleetside (Alloy Forms) and 2 Magnuson 54 Chevys.

Howdy ....

Should I stay or should I go ?

Christian ...... Stay, of course. I have not noticed anything silly, stupid, or crazy. Have fun! The Bachmann Silver Series freight cars should work well.

Willie .... The fence and the bird house look good.

Steve Dakota ..... I like the MILW SD7 and the NP F-units.

Joe ..... The Pennsylvania commuter train looks great. Nice work on your layout, too.

Karl .... Your vehicles look excellent .

Terry ...... Life is like a game of checkers. Sometimes you get jumped. Sometimes you get crowned.

Everybody ...... Have a good night.

Good morning. It's cloudy and 65.
I made sure my wife's computer is properly backed up.
Daughter in law's parents want to visit her, even though they know she is beyond what they can do. They both said they need to say goodbye. Their visit is planned for the 28th.

Good Morning Everyone. Clear and 70° this morning. High today at 92°, NWS is predicting 98° for tomorrow. Then only 82° Tuesday as a result of over 20 mph winds from the north. So we have a full moon tomorrow, a cold front Tuesday and Autumn starts Wednesday. Still no rain in sight.
Despite no rain, I still had to mow yesterday, I started the rotation over again with the east side of the yard, I hope to tackle the south side today. Speaking of mowing, after my hayfield was mowed earlier this summer, we (neighbor and I) decided that it wasn't enough to spend the time and money to rake and bale it, thus no income from it this year. Not a big loss, as I usually only make between $250 and $600 from it any year.

Well, yesterday was a bit of a drag on the home front. Shortly after posting here, the freezer's warning light started flashing as the internal temperature rose above 25°. The damn warranty expired Thursday. I immediately went out and purchased 30# of dry ice while searching for a serviceman. Our usual reliable guy was totally booked up until next Saturday. I felt lucky when another said Monday and I booked an appointment. But then another fellow called and said that he could be there yesterday afternoon. Bingo!!! He made it out and had us up and running by 4:30. The fan was frozen with ice as a result of a faulty thermostat and sensor which he replaced along with thawing out the fan. By bedtime, the temperature had dropped to 17° and the bank account had dropped by $300. I consider that a success as there is easily $500 worth of food in there. I was expecting worse like a new compressor. I'll still pursue the warranty on Monday since Frigidaire Customer Service is closed on weekends.

Headed to Dallas today for a visit with the grandkids prior to my wife's knee re-replacement surgery coming up Friday. While there we will also take care of the postponed anniversary dinner celebration at a special restaurant. Another marathon medical week coming up, with another visit to the orthopedic guy Monday, Tuesday it's the revision specialist, Wednesday it's the ophthalmologist for the one week check up from the cataract removal, and Friday for the knee surgery. She'll drive herself to Monday and Wednesday's appointments which will allow me some quality time mowing the north and west sides of the yard.

Thanks for the likes and comments regarding the layout progress everyone; Tom O, Karl, Troy, Steve J, Sherrel, Rick, Christian, Hughie, Joe, Curt, Mikey, Tom, Garry.

I'm ready for a special one this morning Flo. Have Mel make me Eggs Benedict with Taylor Ham instead of Canadian Bacon.

I did not make it to the train shed yesterday, as the serviceman left about the beginning of cocktail time. It started early yesterday.
So from the archives, a few bar pictures.

Tom O - A belated Happy Anniversary to you and Terry. Sorry, but I was a bit too busy to acknowledge it yesterday.
I see that Miniprints now has a subscription service for their figures. Interesting! I have a wish list for there that I just haven't yet completed. I kinda wish that there were more skateboarding figures. I like action figures. I bookmarked them a few months ago when you first posted about them.
Joe - Yes, I run across many people (wife included) that just don't understand that it's sun exposure, both angle and duration, that heats their pool; not the air temperature. While air temp helps it from cooling too rapidly, it has minimal effect in warming. Cloud cover at night also keeps it from rapid cooling. That's what I am counting on right now along with the uninterrupted sunny days. About one in every four years I can actually make it until October...not this year though.
You're coming right along on the layout.
Mikey - While I made the birdhouse parts separately, I painted them after assembly. I am definitely going to make a couple more as I have already decided on a few placements.

Everybody have a great day. Stay safe.

Good cool morning from Wisconsin. It is in the 60’s this morning and the south deck is very pleasant. High later maybe 90f/32.2c degrees.

Yesterday was an good day and not only because it was our anniversary. Did the horse riding thing, walked the trails to get the 2 miles in, had company in the shower, 3pm soccer game that the g/son’s team dominated but lost. Talked to the SIL’s mom and step dad who has lost 80#’s and going for 100 at the game. He wants to be at 165 for Xmas and looks great at 78 years old. Has the white beard and hair, very tan and looks like the old sea captain. They came over last night with the daughter’s family to check out where her son and family will be living in November. She is kind of one of those her Sh.. don’t stink and thinks she is better then everyone else. Anyway, she was walking around with our daughter and said how can your parents afford this. Kait just started laughing. Here she thought her son was making so much that he owned all the property the family lives on. I couldn’t wait until they left.

Early dinner at Ancho and something else I forget for ok Mexican. They opened on March 20, 2020 just as Wisconsin shut down for Covid. Just not enough spice in anything I had yesterday but ok. Then we went home to the invited in-laws and kids.

Not sure where today is headed after I write this and do my swim.

Enjoy the day
TomO

Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee hosts Sculpture Milwaukee every year. Not much on display this year and this was the most interesting IMO

Good Day to all, and it is! Chilly 53F/11.6C this morning which will change to 82F/27.7C later on under a cloudless sky.

The Spousal Unit and I attended the Temecula Playhouse last evening where we watched the local production of
'MAMA MIA'! The entire 26 members of our local BUNCO were in attendance with us - all were masked as we are an older bunch. The theater was 70-80% full with about 50% of the patrons wearing masks. BTW - I had not seen the play before, but it was very entertaining and well presented - I would definitely go again!

WILLIE - KATE & I send our best to Arlene for her upcoming revisionary surgery and pray that it all works out as intended.
Your running around with all the appointments and the freezer thrown in remind me very much of all the appointments with medical folks around here a few years back. They had me going to three different facilities, eash 50 to 100 miles away and it was getting to me mentally.

I'll be back - The pups are pawing at my legs for their morning treats!

Had an enjoyable day yesterday at the Wyoming Division MRR. This was a "fun run" day and operators brought modern stuff. I shot a lot of video that may be posted later. Lots of DPU activity on the long grades of the empire.
I'll be hitting the road on the Goldwing tomorrow morning to head back home in Virginia.

OK - Whether you like it or not - here I am again; the pups are quite once again. Boy - if Alpo Variety Snaps and Pup-Peroni ever close up shop, I am in serious trouble!

TomO - I don't think I got around to posting yesterday - Anyway, Happy Anniversary a day late.
Please explain that photo of "whatever it is" that you put up this morning?

Mikey , I really like your work - those bird houses must be really tiny; I might could do one in O scale, but HO never!
The Water Tank would be just the place for 3-4 teen age figures sitting with legs dangling off the side drinking beer.
That's what we did - when we could get away with it!

JOE - Nice to see progress - wish I could show the same! Luv the 1:1 photos you post, especially the Penn ones!

CURT -- I sympathize with you on the cleaning out and moving belongings! Dad did not want me to get rid of Mom's things so I just left everything in place until after he passed. Their home was a small two bedroom home maybe 1400 feet; it took me a week of hauling multiple car loads to the Salvation Army Thrift place and just sitting other stuff out in the drive and curb for folks to take away.

CHRISTIAN - You are not allowed to leave! I'm pretty sure that everyone feels the same? I have been looking at countryside photos on Google Maps trying to figure out what part of France where you live. I spent a large part of my life "stareing" at maps - love using Google Earth to see where I used to visit during my working days.
