I brought it up and then never answered it. On November 22, 1963, I was in 7th grade, at a Catholic school in Dallas. I was at noon recess with my fellow classmates, playing touch football. When we came back in, all of the girls in our class who had stayed in and watched the TV, were crying. They told us what had happened. When recess was officially over, Sister Mary [insert name here] came back and solemnly told the whole class and then led us in a Rosary in his name. For you non-Catholics out there, a Rosary is a long, monotonous, repetitive series of prayers (65 all together), normally recited to commemorate someone's death. You follow along using your Rosary beads as tabulators.

Well, like his son, I was three years old, so I heard about it all later.

HEARING LOSS: DAD, USMC, led a 81mm mortar platoon in Korea, but it one of the long barrel 155mm howitzers he was standing next to when someone forgot to yell "fire-in-the-hole" that cost him about half his hearing on the spot.

My own tinnitus is largely self-induced, Huey Lewis style: Too many years of loud music in closed spaces. Maybe 1 day in 30 I don't hear it, but it varies between 3-8 most of the others.

A solution that works for me is wearing ear protectors...gun range cups, 105db in my case...in concert with a donut neck pillow. Sleeping on a side, simply drop the lower ear cup into the pillow hole. Keeps the neck straight, and after an hour or so the imaginary ring of tinnitus seems to quiet itself.

Most high schools in Dallas let students out to go downtown to see the President. Schools weren't closed but it was an excused absence if you did not go to school that day. A girl friend and I went downtown and watched the President and motorcade drive by our viewing spot. We went into a department store and a few minutes later, the lady behind the counter just froze. After we finally got her out of her trance she said the President had been shot. She had been listening to a radio giving details of the parade and shortly afterward, the shooting. My girlfriend and I thought the woman had lost her mind as we stated he just went by not more than 5 minutes or so ago. We learned later the woman was correct.
One thing that I still remember is the "mental state" of the saleslady. You would have thought she just witnessed the execution of her entire family. She was really shook.
So many theories on what caused the Pres to be shot that day and so many odd happenings. And most who knew the facts are gone now.

Cool with plenty of sunshine here in west Texas. I hope to get some wiring done on the layout.

Everyone have a great day....John

Good evening all. A cold night ahead.
As custodian, I have received some old photographs of the ocean liner Queen Elizabeth built in 1940.

One here shows G.I.s boarding Queen Elizabeth in Southampton early 1946. She was still in her battleship grey colours.

Good evening. Currently 36° with snowfall. While there were some unanticipated accumulations of snow in the Metropolitan Area, including several inches reported at Central Park, the Shore Area has been spared. Forecasters anticipate the snow will end around 0400, with some mixed precipitation until daybreak. So far today, 0.04" of measurable precipitation, added to yesterdays 1.56" of rain. After our extended dry spell, few are complaining.

Thinking back that was 61 years ago, I still remember specific parts of the day.

Good afternoon all. Afternoon Tea please, Flo.
We are having Afternoon Tea and watching 'Frozen' with older granddaughter. Both my granddaughters know the film word for word almost. Still a firm favourite of theirs.

JFK. Arrived home from work and shortly after I heard the news.
I think I still know Frozen by heart. The granddaughter used to watch it constantly.

The facts are in the buried CIA files

Good morning all from a snowy land of the former North British Railway.
A hot chocolate please, Flo. Add some cream as well.

A few household jobs to attend to..
Youngest grandson is visiting and staying overnight.

The old television finally gave in and a new one purchased. One that with a press of a button the Disney Channel comes on. It saves the complicated use of three hand controllers.

Have you been in touch with this gent from Australia?

I do not know him. I shall see if he is a member of Ocean Liner Society. We have a few member who live in Oz.

I would like to see a quality TV with an actual universal remote that had a digital screen and with a touch of a button, you could activate your DVD, Sound System, TV and Satellite system all in one without 30 buttons on it that the average person doesn't know what half of them a for
