Hello this morning. It is not a good one as I’m under the weather. Lousy night and now a worst morning. The throat started tingling around 3pm, running nose around 7 and it just kept going. I now have a hangover headache but have not had a sip of alcohol since July.

Negative on the Covid test!

Heading to the chair in my cave. All plans are changed to I’m not doing anything this morning

Be well, be safe

Good Morning All. Clear and 49°, temperatures still going up into the mid to upper 70's for a few more days until a cold front hits us after sunset Tuesday. NWS is still sticking with their forecast of rain Sunday night into Monday, however it won't affect the temperature much. Overnight lows after the cold front hits should be in the upper-30's on Wednesday and Thursday. Back to regular Fall weather by next weekend.

Nothing special about yesterday here. I cleaned up some brush and did some house cleaning; much to the surprise of my wife. Gotta do something while waiting for the dew to dry outside.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued with the current project scene. I started by touching up a couple of spots where the ground cover was lacking, and then did a couple more nearby places where the dripping water through the missing roof back in May, had washed away what was there. I've still got a few more of those places plus some washed out ballast to fix.
Then I started on a barbed-wire fence to separate the wooded area from the warehouse on the south (left in yesterday's pictures). I planned to use some of the Woodland Scenics fencing.

It would require cutting some of it up to fit the intended space. Then I realized that it comes with extra posts and I had about 2 dozen stashed away already.

So I just used five of them and some 6" pieces of .010" wire that I use for homemade fences, a little super glue and made a custom one.

Well, I accidentally moved it on my pattern while making it and that left the section on the right at a scale 12.5' instead of the intended 11'. It's not going to be a big deal, since that section is going to be perpendicular to any viewer and will butt up to the backdrop on the upper level. Three foot rule comes into play here.
Letting the super glue set up overnight before installing it next. I also spruced up some of the trees that I got from Chet, as some of the foliage clumps had come off during handling and transport a thousand miles away. I have a box full of clumps that were left in the bottom of the shipping box. Here's how they came to me!

Terry - MSN is not my home page and I don't get hurricane warnings, but I have noticed there's usually at least one or two outdated stories there every time I open it up.
For me, the Kadee #158's don't play as well with much of my fleet with the older #5's. I use the #148's instead. Oversized, yes, but works with #5's very well. My experience only.
Tom O - That's too bad regarding Terry's cataract surgery. I had to do the cardiac testing, but not any kind of breathing testing. Maybe it's because it's been over 50 years since I touched tobacco in the 60's.
Louis - Yes, I saw your mention of the quick trigger finger. 44 years of using various chainsaws and I still have all digits and limbs intact.
Troy - I'm not defending the DFW airport, but there are 215 restaurants in there. But they are scattered through five separate terminals. Mostly they don't open until between 7 and 9 am. I don't know how this compares to other airports. Go to NerdWallet for an interactive guide.

Everyone have a superb Saturday.

It just occurred to me that many may not have any idea what I was referring to about the old man being beat up by a boxer.
Mike Tyson, 58 years old and longtime famed world champion boxer, came out of retirement to box a much younger, Jake Paul 27 years old. Paul beat Tyson by unanimous decision. Both boxers earned $10s of millions for climbing in the ring this time.

Morning all,

D&J: I got it. That's why I responded with a laugh. Tyson need the money before he's social security eligible?

52° and partly cloudy with 65° later. Wind is picking up ahead of a cold front that's supposed to, if accurate, bring the area between 2-3" of rain tomorrow evening and into Monday. We need it. we are at the 4th wettest November on record and a tenth of an inch behind the 3rd wettest. Anything over 2" will make this the wettest November on record.

As I was mowing yesterday, I was looking at the wife's hollyhocks that are still blooming, and thought, "This is mid-November, why am I still mowing?" It has yet to get cold enough to make the fescue go dormant. I will need to mow again next week at least and possibly over the Thanksgiving weekend. New territory as I've been know the be shoveling snow around now as well.

I'd rather mow than shovel snow.

The part was what I owed after insurance paid. The whole thing was kind of sketchy. "If you owe anything, we'll send you a statement". You can see where all that wound up.
Medical practices are increasingly going to third party billing services, that are increasingly automated. AI cannot deduct that there is a mailing address, because its not programed to do so. Billing by mail cost them money, e-mail and patient portals don't cost them per transaction.

Good evening all. The snow that was forecast hasn't arrived, yet.
Received a lovely telephone call from my 'baby sister'. She is not my real sister; we both had difficult childhoods. Because I understood her we became good friends. Sharon was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Dawn and me.

Here we are at a family gathering of the Christening of older granddaughter. Sharon with her husband Ian. (I'm on the left.)

You guys and your Covid disinformation are something else. People died from the f…ing thing. I lost 2 great employees way too soon because of it

Yes it’s similar to the flu but it’s a different variant and more deadly or are you are deniers of that. The only thing right about Covid the President who said it would go away and than recommended bleach got right was he called it a Chinese flu. Yep manufactured in China. At this time if we get another Chinese flu over the next 4 years he’ll slap a tariff on it

Thanks by the way I am feeling better, back another time maybe

This is a subject of great interest to me. I've achieved a significant milestone. All three tracks under my Christmas tree in the family room are up and running. My Lionel 0-8-0 locomotive from the Santa's Flyer RTR set has successfully completed tests on all three tracks. It runs, puffs smoke, and the air whistle blows. The light on the caboose doesn't flicker and there is Christmas music coming from the boxcar!

There's still a great deal to accomplish before everything is prepared, but for once, I'm ahead of schedule.

Thank God and all my train friends who encouraged me to "do a little at a time when you can".

TomO I'm sorry for your loss.

I lost my favorite cashier, Amber, at my regular grocery store to Covid. She was a single mother of an 8-year-old girl. Thank God her grandmother was close to them both and able to take care of the little girl. I think of Amber every time we go into the store. Especially now with the holidays approaching. Amber would always tell me about her holiday plans. All the while she never skipped a beat ringing me up. She was a great worker in addition to being a wonderful mother.

COVID-19 is certainly not a hoax or a matter to be taken lightly.

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better.

Afternoon, done doing some running around, heading to the train room. See what I can get done today. Train show next weekend but they are predicting snow. If it does I'll be working, if bad enough with the lakes being warm there maybe no show like a couple of years ago when they had 4 feet of snow.
