Will you be using this in your layout or just as stand alone scenes?

Well, howdy there internet peeps... Remember, tomorrow is April 1

Whatever comes out of DC is probably real. ;)

Tonight wife and I went to the newly opened The Famous Taco... and we both got Burritos Barbacoa... only these are made with chuck steak.

We started to like the barbacoa burritos out in LA. There was a good place in Culver City we would walk to called Kay & Dave's. We'd split one of the burritos. It was really good!

This one was ok... just OK. I tried the store-made bottle of red sauce. That was a mistake. My lips were still burning when I finished the burrito. And I only had one bite of the burrito with the red sauce. Scraped the rest off... that's potent stuff. I don't do HOT spices.

Afternoon to all..........

Well I tried to set up 4 servos yesterday for some turnouts on my layout. After I had all the servos with their brackets installed, I read in the instructions for the servo controller board, that the servos throw needs to set with the servo NOT installed. O K I'm going backwards now but they are free from their brackets. Then instructions say that a small button on the controller board needs to be depressed BEFORE powering up the board. My problem here is the board is wired into an accessory bus and the switch that turns power off and on to the bus is about 8 feet away from the location of my controller board. This crap is sure getting on my bad side. I guess I could put in a temporary on/off switch between the board and the bus but what a pain as it will need to be hard mounted so I can flip it with one hand while holding down that button on the board with the other. After I learn on this first install, I guess the rest should be easier as I go. Now I gotta find an on/off switch and get it installed. That will kill another evening. All this "fun" is starting to wear on my patience.

Other than that, I guess things are alright. Gotta find a new accountant to do my taxes as the lady that I have used for the last 7 years has left the business to take care of family issues. 7 years is about average for my accountants before they die or move on and if I can find a good barber, they last about 3 years.

I guess I'm just becoming a grumpy old man. Fact is I don't deal with "changes" that well. I hate it when I have to set clocks back and fourth every 6 months or so. Damn, just pick one and roll with it.

On track cleaning, try getting some CRC, electrical contact cleaner, SAFE FOR PLASTIC, in a spray can. Spray a liberal amount on a micro fiber cloth and rub the tops of the rails. You will have to re-apply the spray to the cloth as this stuff evaporates pretty quick. After that, apply mineral spirits very, very sparingly to the top of the rails. I'm saying a super thin film only, almost not even there. That black gunk on the rails is from "micro-sparking" of electrical contact to the rail. If you have oil or grease on your track rails then you have over lubricated your rolling stock/locomotives.
Model Railroad Hobbyist has done an exhaustive amount of research on track cleaning and maintenance. Keep in mind while alcohol will clean the rail heads, any alcohol contains water......not good for NS track. NEVER use an abrasive type of track cleaner as this puts tiny scratches in the rail and gives the black gunk a good place to start to accumulate quicker.
If you have a better method for track cleaning that works for you, I say stick with it.

Ok.......my rant is over. Have a good one, John

Nah, old maybe, not grumpy though. Most of us were raised under a different set of rules, and we find it hard to accept the BS the various "elites" keep throwing at us. On top of that most of us are dealing with some sort of discomfort, which doesn't help our disposition. This latest time "change", for instance has totally disrupted my circadian clock. (How's that for a big word, I hope it's the correct one to use though - ).

Evening fellow modelers,

Had the day off today before I’m back on the hump tomorrow in East Deerfield.

Took some time to create a video talking about my GMRC build. I know I’ve had the thread for a while but I figured I’d create a video as well to begin documenting the build. I’m a member of several facebook groups who up until today had very little idea or knowledge of the new layout. Rocky Valley has been very popular on those groups so I’ve been mostly posting photos of the layout there. Feel free to check out the video if you’d like:)

You don't have a neighbor or friend who can flip the power on?
