Afternoon All,

Finished up the sanding today. It only took 7 hours to do. Tomorrow, dad has a follow-on cardiologist appointment and I guess every 2 weeks for quite a while. I hope to be working again on the layout Saturday. I think I'm going to finish about half the peninsula then move over to the last pier. That way I can use half the peninsula for supplies.

Hughie- Look forward to seeing your progress. I almost bought the shipyard brewing several years ago.

Willie- Now that's funny.

Joe- I'm glad the phone didn't start a fire. Cool photos.

Lee- Another great video.

Terry- I'm glad Marie is making progress even if it is slow.

Guy- Great 1:1 photos.

Got this in the mail today.

As the great Vin Scully would say, “Good evening to you, wherever you may be”. Alice, May I have a small piece of Chocolate Silk, with a TGOM, please.
I have no idea what chocolate silk is but I plan to find out

Too many hits so I assume it is like the cadburys silk chocolate which I have not tried even though cadburys was English, I eat low sugar low carb high dark chocolate 90 percent Lindt as the sugar and carb count works in my Keto diet, i scoff it with about 30g of mixed raw nuts walnuts mainly and some macadamia and cliched almonds and brazils and clotted cream with a drizzle of double cream, yesterday in addition to that I scoffed 2 large chicken thighs spiced with pink salt pepper paprika garlic hint of italian herbs, and a lot of belly pork very crispy, yum yum, and a Keto ade with lemon and lime slices with pink salt, potassium salt ie low salt couple of home made teaspoons of apple vinegar cider no sugar replacement required - other half had xytol sweetener. Yep life was 👍 good 😊 and not one hunger pain, still growing our veggies though, the birds eat them, good for back up and the occasional cheat. Chocolate….10g 120 calories drooooooools.

Gads - I'm such a baby sometimes. I took a jewelers file to the offending point. After a few minutes working it - - problem solved. You 'old hands' must get much meeriment from me!! 🤣
Ingenuity to solve an issue is without doubt a seriously underrated skill, my brother who got his degree from Oxford university and he was a top student there also, having being initially accepted at 16,my dad would not let him go until he was 18, is often gobsmacked by the stuff I and my other half do to resolve issues, so far I have failed to catch him laughing up his sleeve, although I cannot discount this has ever happened….grins. although this is the near genius who really should not be left alone with a screwdriver a plug and a plug socket! over the years my other half has repaired motorbikes, electrical fuse box’s, electrical items from my brothers hands, and let not forget his donations to our model layout a sample of which looks like this, he was very um reticent to explain just how he managed to melt this offering!
Of course I had fun with it, although the odd modeller was a bit shocked over the new livery colours and it’s clear similarities to a childhood favourite!

Weigh in:

Yesterday was high: 225
Today 220.1

Yes, I made two trips to the commode since yesterday's weigh-in, but it shouldn't have been that much. Got my steps in. 13,700+ of them

I did slow down on the nuts and salami.

Off to get a chuck roast to smoke for dinner.
Good morning. It's cloudy and 50.
My wife has been home since Sunday, and it's been a little--hectic-- since then.
She couldn't even stand or walk when she came home, she now can stand and walk from the bed to her chair in the living room, and from there to the bathroom and back, using her walker. She has a long way to go, though, before she can safely be by herself. Her son is here this week, through Friday, to help her. I have to work Saturday, so we're working to get her self-sufficient enough she can sit in her chair in the living room by herself from 9:00-1:30. All of our neighbors are older than us, and most of them not much better health, so getting a neighbor to come help is out of the question.
So pleased to hear there is improvement, even though you are still clearly stressed and under pressure, a little ray of sunshine cracking through,

p.s. don’t feed her sugar it clouds the mind, feed her eggs and bacon if she can eat it.

Heres hoping this small improvement continues, fingers crossed for you, and bonus for the son helping, a tight family makes life easier.

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those wanting some of Willie's beer train cargo

It's Troy again

I discovered what happens when I print an elephant, without an elephant's worth of resin in the vat

View attachment 142977

And, I now know which side of the vat is a bit lower than the other side. Time to shim up the workbench. See the leg on the left side of the photo? Enough resin to print it, but not the other three legs. So the front left is lower.

I was going to name him Stampie, to go with Stompie, the first elephant I printed.

Now, I think I'll print up a watering hole, and have him coming up out of it. That will be an interesting piece of terrain for the game table.

In other news, I picked up a chuck roast today for smoking on the grill.
Elephants love them, and yes my work desk is that messy lol

Might be nice tho', if one of your neighbours could come and just sit with her while your gone.
Great to hear she's up and about, obviously a long way to go though, sure she will improve more with your TLC

This is a D&RGW L-131 a Brass locomotive that I painted and weathered up just a little. The model pulled 50 cars up a 1.5% grade. It did struggle but pulled its heart out. So many steam locos under perform here. Some wont even stretch the drawbars out in the yard. This one astounded me. A great puller, and did justice to steam locomotives in general.
Please carry on my friends.

I have a Aux water car (Brass) too but no images yet.

Troy - My go to for beef spice is Garlic, Pepper and Salt. When people wanted to know what the spice was I always told them 'Good Sh.t'. Welp, happened to be at Duke's in Canton Tx and found:

Got the stuff as joke. Tried the chicken stuff and found it tasty. Now we use the rest depending on the meat as they are darn good. Still like Garlic, Pepper and Salt though. Website here > Special Sh.t ifn y'all are interested.
Sent an email, wonder if they do international postage. Sent the pic to my daughter who immediately phoned me demanding who was selling this and demanding I get her some so........ see what response I get.

Good morning all! Cloudy and 47 heading for rain and 61 today. Had another beautiful day here yesterday. Didn't accomplish much of anything, but still got to be out in the nice weather quite a bit.

Drinking my coffee and catching up on forum posts at the moment. Soon it will be time to go in for my final day at Lowe's. I've mostly enjoyed my time there...mostly. Not sorry to be leaving though, other than missing my co-workers and a few of the customers. Definitely not going to miss walking 8 to 10 miles a day inside the store on the concrete. My feet hurt 24/7 these days which was never a problem before I started working there. Hoping to make it a great day there one last time before starting my job on Monday.

That's about it from here. Hope you all have a great day!
