Me neither, but do get your wife checked! My wife got it, and she was never in the woods, just in our back yard. We get lots of deer through the neighborhood at night. All it takes is one tick bite!

Good late morning folks, hope you are well today. My back was really throbbing yesterday from the weather change, didn't even make it to Church. Some better today, so that is good. Got laundry going and need to find some HO stuff that a young guy is interested in.
On that topic, the club meeting I went to Saturday had three young guys [under 30] four middle aged guys and four old farts [me included]. So the balance is very encouraging. The hobby is getting more expensive at first glance, but when really good steam locomotives were selling for $100 and cheap ones for $40, good cars were selling for 5-8000 dollars and pay was a quarter of what most jobs earn today. Okay a BLI steam loco will run $300, but look at the quality involved.
And those little goats are quite lovable, I once walked into the Dispatcher's Office at the Williamson County, Illinois' Sheriff's Department to find one in there. He had been found running loose, they brought him to the station, no one claimed him, so the ladies there kept him. Cute little guy.
If the back continues to feel better I will try to dig out the HO stuff from under the layout.
Gonna grab another cup of coffee.

Good morning, all! Sitting here listening to the thunder and rain. Flood watch till Wednesday afternoon. We had been dog sitting the youngest daughter's dog while they moved. The little dog, a shih tzu, loves me and sat on my lap 99% of the time. Found out she is not into model trains though. When a horn or whistle would sound, she ran off.
Nothing wonderful nor spectacular happening so I will settle back into shadows.

Good afternoon. I gave the electric company that installed the water heater a call this morning. The guy that answered the phone initially was pretty noncommittal, as I'm sure he gets calls every day from people wanting something for nothing. I then emailed him a video of the water pouring around the 220 lines and the submerged wiring.
I could hear exactly when he saw the video, because he was just talking normally, then in mid-sentence, he said, "Oh---boy... Umm, we'll get somebody out there at 8 tomorrow morning. Turn the breaker to that circuit off until we can get there and see what we can do".

From what i noticed there's a lot of young people chasing trains, especially the left over steam. There are clubs where young crowd hangs out. I'm one of those "lone wolfs" myself, that's because i grew up in different country and my interests don't really fit what's popular here. But i do get together with some people from time to time to chat and share experiences. We really can't expect the younger crowd to model what the older folks grew up with, unless one really gets hooked on one of the fallen flag railroads and pursues it with vengeance. What's available right away, was hard to achieve few decades ago, because the manufacturers offer super detailed models which would require many hours in the private workshop otherwise. Highly developed electronics and the means to print a one off model (otherwise maybe only available in rare brass), has also had a impact on prices. While there's generally an upward trend in price rise, i was able to find and purchase pieces which were only available in my dreams decades ago. We all collect or model stuff which impressed us one way or another, some when we could barely walk as a child, some as a result of an incredible trip to foreign land. Since impressions vary, so do interests and pursuit of modeling those impressions.
I didn't see any outer sheathing on the wires, just a red, white, green, and black group of wires. Yes, he drilled holes in the sewer drain system. I have no idea what the guy was thinking.

Good afternoon. Didn't get on yesterday. Took the dogs up to the dam recreation area where they explored for around an hour. I am feeling somewhat better as I could keep up with them. Got up there early so we stopped at the Libby dog park to let them run around off leash. We were there for around another hour and the dogs were busy getting acquainted with other dogs until Molly came across a ball. She is addicted to playing fetch and it was game on. Someone had left some throw sticks and the other dog owners couldn't believe how fast a dachshund can run. Had to cut the outing short because the NASCAR race at Pocono was coming on.
All the exercise must have worn Olivia out. Glance down at her little house and saw this.
Troy - Looks like you guys will be enjoying some good food soon. I love to grill. My son and his family came out for dinner every Sunday before I moved and my son was curious as to why we haven't had anything from the grill. I pointed out the kitchen window and he got the hint. He happened to have his snow shovel with him. The corner of the grill is on the lower left. My record for grilling is minus 43 degrees.
I am in an HOA myself. I am the president. It's extremely small. We don't have any set meetings unless it's something really important. I had gotten up to get a glass of water while they were looking for a volunteer for president. Didn't hear the comment and by the time I got back to my chair, I was president.
Todd - Like the new addition. Should be drinking from a dish pretty soon.
I hadn't tried the VA for glasses. After what I went through with the cancer surgery and got nothing from the VA because I hadn't contacted them before the surgery. Years ago I had tried to see if they would cover prescription drugs and I made too much money. The cut off was $16,000 a year income.
Rosauers is expensive, but it's close and they have excellent produce. I contacted the custom butcher in Troy a few weeks ago to see what they had available. Spoke to the new owners and they were still in transition from the old owner. I will head over to Watson's grocery as I have found a few items I haven't seen in Libby.
7/16 OSB would work fine. Might span the 44 inches without much support. I'm still slowly learning where to go in town. I try to buy local if the difference isn't much.
I'm going to post some old photo from the Logan Valley. The dog's dinner time is almost here.
