Good afternoon to all...........

Well, the old " I need another loco" bug is sure chewing. I had one of the new BLI Southern Pacific, GS-4 locos in a cart, but after taxes and shipping were added, I decided to cancel the deal. The total was a bit over $600.00. After paying on my "Bull Moose" locomotive purchase, the GS-4 would have just about canceled out that payment amount so I had to say no. I have two of the Athearn Genesis, MT-4 Southern Pacific locos so I need to be content with that. Fact is I have more steam locos than I will ever need and really need to sell a couple. Plus the fact I have a bunch of diesel locos and just don't need anymore. I'll go broke on adding DCC if I keep them all. Not bragging here, just saying it is sure hard to say no to the latest and greatest loco release. I really need to concentrate on finishing up my layout.

I have a bit of drafting work to do so I need to get busy with that. The driving thought here is : The sooner I get finished with my project, the sooner I can send an invoice.

I noticed 10 members online and 599 visitors. I'd say a slow day for bots.

Everyone have a great day.....John

She's the one I complained about to the NMRA. When I asked if the board new she branded what she has repeated called "MY PERSONAL FACEBOOK PAGE" while having the URL of the page be facebook.com/lucynmra with a blue checkmark

She can pay for the blue checkmark herself, but keep the org branding off the page if you claim it's "personal"
Why pay for a blue checkmark for a "personal" facebook page? It took one search to see that she has a family and friends oriented facebook page. THAT one is "personal"... the one with the blue checkmark was a "professional" page.

And FB doesn't handle author pen names well. I could get a blue checkmark on either a business page, send them my LLC paperwork - which is not my pen name. Or get it on my real name (not the pen name).

Once she put the NMRA in the URL/Pagename, she's repping the org. And people wanted to hold her accountable to being a voice of the org when she promoted that page.

I haven't read deep enough to see what got her in a tizzy this week, but she doesn't take even constructive criticism well.

While I'm sorry she's had such a rough year in her position, she' proven several times (many times over) she's not the professional communications leader her position needed.

Maybe I should send Gordy my resume?
Yes, I remember. She is also the one who took way too much crap from the model railroad podcast guy that he was totally out of line on. He basically said and I am definitely cleaning this up, that women have no business in model trains. Well she’s done and while I don’t agree about hanging the dirty laundry out she left on her terms.

I think it’s a thankless job but you are strong willed and understand public perception, go for it! They can say yes or no, there is no in between.

I think I remember that. Was that the time when Rapido and Scale Trains amongst others pulled their sponsorship of that particular podcast?

Wow, the last time I bought ceiling tiles, I bought a whole pallet!
Saturday ceiling tile.jpg
Actually I misspoke, It was a whole pallet minus 1 box. This was my last ceiling tile purchase, and I only have 5 left, held for future boo boos. After this was all installed the gophers came. 33 LED lights later, they were vanquished and I still had 5 tiles left over! (and 3 spare lights, just in case)

have more steam locos
I want to make or buy a display case for my stuff. One of those big, wall mount units with rows for rails or have slots built in for the wheels to ride on. Since I can't get one shipped out here, I'm going to have to make one. My woodworking buddy is spending a lot of time back in the states taking care of health stuff, so I guess I have to do it myself.

I'd like to get one for the HO/OO and another for the N scale stuff, but I could get the Kato cases for the N stuff.

Need to get my locos out of the dust. Yeah, it's a mess...

Not sure what an AH-1Z is. Maybe the Navy/Marine designation for a twin-turbine Huey? The UH-1Y is the twin turbine Huey. The B-2 is the stealth bomber. It shouldn't show up on radar!

I use the term 'radar' generically. It's actually an RF signal transmitted by the on-board ADS-B equipment aboard the aircraft and intercepted by ground stations all over the US in a large network that feeds servers this information. It can be displayed on a computer monitor and includes multiple parameters.

However, it can be turned off in the aircraft with the proper authority. Most military aircraft can be tracked, but like today, there are exceptions.

AH-1Z is the latest version of the Cobra Gunship, aka the Viper. They are assigned to Marine Corps Light Attack Squadrons. What I saw today was the normal pairing of a Twin Turbine Huey (Yankee) and the twin urbine Cobra. They are 4 blade aircraft, an upgrade from the previous two blade versions...

@TLOC and @DeaconKC thank you both for sharing your memories, i loved it!

I first became interested in the White Sox during the 72-pennant race. Wilbur Wood, Bill Melton, Dick Allen, Carlos May and others. And who can forget Rich Gossage and Terry Foster in their bullpen.

I'm not old enough to remember the "Go-Go White Sox", but I've read about them.

Today's MLB is the best, the next best thing is MLB history and to get it firsthand from real fans is priceless!
