Well, howdy there internet peeps.
Swal: You're still in my thoughts. Please remember that we are all available should you need assistance that we can provide.
As for me and my world: I'm still dealing with lower back issues. I suspect I reinjured my back in that tumble two weeks ago. My knee is mostly healed from the scrape, but the lower back on the left is tender. Bothers me most when I sit for long periods. If I move wrong it twinges, so I'm doubting it's a kidney stone. Should it stick around for another week, I'll call the doc. I hope I can work it out with morning stretches.
Yesterday I spent a lot of time at the paint table trying to finish some orcs, and ships.
First the orcs:

The bases are supposed to have a space/ethereal teleport interdimensional transport look. I achieved this by wet blending two colors of rattle can spray on the base. Once that was dry, I dipped the bristles of an old toothbrush in white ink. then I used a gloved finger to pull back on the bristles, slowly moving from front to back, releasing a spray of ink at the bases.
These are my Taylor Swiftie orcs, so I had to have an orc bard singing and drawing attention from the boyz.

Yes, the boyz on the right are distracted by the bards on the stage... I made sure to put a "handle" on the base (the archway) so I could use it to handle the unit, instead of picking it up by one of the figures. The girls, in particular, are fragile due to being 3d printed resin, with thin ankles, and only CA glue holding them to the glass forming the stage.
Did I mention Boats? The same game company has a fantasy naval game .... I'm trying to get a broad range of starter fleets to do some demo games with.
I knew the dangers, but decided to glue the masts and sails in before priming. I get a strong joint that way, since the boat are usually grabbed by the sails during demo games.

Even though the compass rose design is embossed on the sales, trying to get a brush back in between the sails is challenging. For once, I was glad that the synthetic brush I was using had developed the "hook" on the end of the bristles. That made painting the edges of the pattern easier.
Today, I need to gloss coat the boats, then repaint the white on the sails to cover up mistakes. And go pick out details like the cannons on deck.
