64 F degrees heading to a muggy High of 88 in The Fort today.
Moose Jaw SK in the Great White North has a mild day, then the rest of the week is in the upper 80s to low 90s (F-degrees), then back down into upper lower 80s.
Found out last night that the TRAINS club is setting up this morning/afternoon at the history center. I put the operating days on my calendar, but not the set up day. I figured there would be reminder emails about details. I was wrong. They do texting. But no one on the chain thought to ask the club secretary for my phone number to include me. Oh well. I'll get there if I can get my household chores done.
And a friend from the gaming circle - who is in the midst of moving out of state - is back in town so we're catching a late breakfast this morning to catch up again. So I probably won't hit the club setting up until late afternoon when they're mostly done.
We always get a streak or two (or more) over 100F. Yes it’s hot. But it’s infinitely more bearable (for me) with a dry heat than 85-90F and 85% or more humidity.
Your body can cool itself through sweating with a dry heat. And the misters and other things actually help. With high humidity the body struggles to cool itself and it feels like your core internal is higher it feels like. (Feels like it to me. Probably is not really that much higher).
Of course, I’d rather have cooler than 100F. 95-98F is warm enough for a hot day (but still very bearable as a dry heat).

Holy crap! The idiots were out in full force today! With that being said the Big Boy was awesome today.
This is the Lebanon train station. I did not go there. I went about 5 miles down the line.
I didn’t take any pics here just video. Here is a screen shot.
Then I drove to the Rockville bridge. Had to walk about a mile or so to get some pics of the “Large Lad” crossing the river. People were “parked” everywhere!
All in all, it was the most “fun” I’ve had in a while! They backed the engine and consist into the yard. I didn’t hang around for that.
A friend of mine, who is an NS engineer, took these pics on his way in to work this evening.

Nice day today. Got up to 85 then rain moved in and cooled it down to 74! I took Lady C to some shopping, then she got her teeth cleaned and the the lady there told her what a beautiful smile she has. Crud, I could have told them that the first time I saw her, 44 years ago! Then we went to Zaxby's for dinner and the bottom dropped out while we were eating. It poured! We hung out there until it let up a bit, then gassed up and got home. And paid $2.97 a gallon for gas!

A public service announcement ................
USPS has announced changes to both rates and rules taking effect July 12. Here's what's changing:
Ground Advantage rates for under 1 pound are increasing
USPS is unifying ounce-based rates for Ground Advantage at the Commercial Pricing rate, making all shipments to non-continental destinations that weigh less than 15.99 oz cost the same as a 15.99 oz shipment. For example, a 2 oz Ground Advantage package will now cost the same as a 15.99 oz package.
These new Commercial Pricing rates will affect shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and military addresses—USPS has not announced rate changes for any other locations.
Rounding and dimensional weight (DIM weight) are changing
USPS will now round up all fractional dimensions to the next whole inch, so it's more important than ever to measure your packages as accurately as possible.
USPS is also lowering its DIM weight divisor from 166 to 139. This means that the dimensional (DIM) weight of large packages will increase, and you could see dimensional weight charges more often.
Here's a quick refresher on dimensional weight: It's determined by multiplying Length * Width * Height, then dividing by the DIM divisor. If the resulting "dimensional weight" is higher than your actual weight, that's the weight you'll be charged for instead. So for example, a package that is 12x16x20 / 139 = 28 lb in dimensional weight. If the actual weight is less than 28 lb, you'll be charged the 28 lb rate.
Dimensional weight is why you should always try to use as small of a box as possible for your items, and always measure the outer dimensions of your packages as accurately as possible.
Pro Tip: The dimensions that are printed on boxes are usually internal measurements. USPS verifies your package’s outer dimensions, so always measure the outside of your box before buying a label—don't rely on the number printed on the box 
Max dimensions for Cubic are increasing & Softpack is changing
USPS is increasing the maximum allowable package length for Cubic pricing from 18 inches to 22 inches, allowing more shipments to qualify for Cubic pricing rates
USPS is also lowering the number of Ground Advantage Cubic pricing tiers for softpack envelopes from 10 tiers down to 5. Read more about that here.
New fees for hazmat, oversized, and overweight shipments
USPS is introducing new fees for hazmat shipments and a $200 fee for oversized/overweight packages.
And rates are increasing just to mail a letter or card.

It’s 9:25pm in Scottsdale, Arizona and it’s an ungodly 102f degrees feeling like 113. I don’t care if you says it’s a dry heat or not,it’s hot.
We are on the deck and the only reason that’s possible is that the misters pop on every 2 minutes. You feel the water spray for a few seconds and then it’s gone. Troy when the pizza comes out of the wood fired pizza oven I will get a pizza picture. My brother thinks he’s a pizza king!

Morning All! 73 in the Brew City this morning, going to 88 with a chance of rain this evening. Painting again this week, an SP Automat car for a friend. one of my cats had to have surgery, her third time under the knife poor thing. Teeth first (she lost a few, common in older cats) then cancer which cost her a front leg, and yesterday, cancer in a mammary gland. She came through fine, but she is now understandably paranoid about being handled and especially being put the pet carrier. I hope we've got it licked this time, as the vet bills are stacking up. Her tab is rapidly approaching Rolex territory! Remember "That 70's Show" and Red Foreman's perpetual lament "I could have had a Corvette!"
