Good Morning All. Clear and 76°; NWS says 100° later today, but they missed that when they forecast it last week by 5°. Otherwise the same July forecast, sunny, hot, dry, windy afternoons and no rain.

Grueling week coming up for this stay at home hermit kind of guy. Medical appointments today and tomorrow; socializing today and Wednesday, maybe! Today is the semi-annual visit to the nurse-practitioner at my cardiologist's office. I am not doing well on all of the new blood pressure medications that were added to my routine after last month's atrial flutter episode. I have a total lack of energy and get tired way too soon when doing stuff. One or more are causing constipation; and the BP has not been even remotely been consistent. Then we're going to lunch with my wife's sister and husband who are here from Tennessee.
Tomorrow is the follow-up to the laser eye surgery from 2 weeks ago. Wednesday we're supposed to meet up with my sister and husband who are here from Ohio. That's now up in the air since Tom's 98 year old mother who they were also coming to see, died Saturday night! This stop is just an overnight layover on a vacation trip for them.

Don't remember what all I did yesterday after church except to pick a couple dozen Tomatoes. For the second day in a row, I did not visit the train shed, so my life is topsy-turvey right now. Well, I do remember spending about an hour with my wife reviewing spreadsheets and various statements regarding our retirement funds. Very rosy outlook there except that we're going to have to start paying income tax again for 2025.

Never had a TV dinner when growing up, as Mom was an old fashioned Mom and cooked every night for Dad and us six kids. I don't recall ever having one after we got married or during college either. We did have a set of metal TV dinner trays that we got when one of my wife's aunts died. I used one to build models in the living room before I ever had a train room.

Karl - You need to vary the color of the clothing on the ladies in the diner! ;)

The late actor/comedian Robin Williams was born on this day in 1951.
Everyone have a wonderful Monday, stay cool.

We finally had some rain last night. A low pressure front from Alaska moved through and dropped about .5". That little bit of rain is our July average. The front is moving East and will definitely help with the fires. It will be clear and 80 by noon.

I need to order a cake today for our 39th anniversary this Sunday. It's been a recent tradition to try and replicate the top layer of our wedding cake. We found an old school, scratch, bakery about a half hour away that can make it from our pictures. They're in a little agricultural town a couple of blocks from where the Oregon Pacific Shortline is based. I hate butter cream icing, but like cake. My wife loves the icing, so I scrape the icing off my cake on to hers.

Good morning,

60 and cloudy, calm.

Mom would make her own tv dinners from leftovers, mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey, veg. I think they went on a pie tin, so could not be microwaved. That was many years ago.

We do have a couple of those wooden TV trays.

Smells like a campground, someone nearby has a campfire going...

Think I will trim some of the pine trees along our trail, need to duck to get around some of the branches, cut some brush, then play with the revamped Varney.

I have been repopulating the layout. Still have several people to paint.

Back later, Dave LASM

Welp... Pork in marinating in the teriyaki sauce. Pineapple is purchased, awaiting the knife. Grill is cleaned and loaded with charcoal.

What am I doing?

Lovely view of the tomato plants.

Ears get lowered today at 1:30 local. I might need a nap before then.

Good morning all!

A very cloudy, hazy, humid morning out there. Currently 74F heading up to a high of around 83F. I see they have already thrown
excessive heat warnings up for the middle of the week when the temps will go above 90F again. Guess I better get those few
outside things done that I've been lazily putting off.

Tonight is our last volleyball league game. We play from 4:30-6:30 2 games. I assume it will be a Culvers night for dinner. Sees to
be the trend of our league nights.

Other than that, its still remaining pretty quiet around here with nothing earth-shattering going on.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning All!

62F @ 70% with drizzle. To be almost 70F later with harder rain in the cast.

Not much from me today - have 2 10 yard dumpers coming in sometime this am. 1st load is dirt, 2nd washed 3/4" gravel. Ditch from the Train Cave to the new Chicken/Goat house pad is done, waiting for some crushed to put in the bottom of it; then run conduit, more crushed then cover.

Trying to decide which of yesterday's MLB games to watch, I already watched the Orioles. I watched the Rundown Recap on MLB.TV. I lost count of the fundamental mistakes I saw. Some of these guys need to spend more time in the minors. Many of the mistakes I saw would be unacceptable in A ball!

There is more to baseball than hitting homeruns. Play smart or lose in a high scoring game.

I did see Ronald Acuna Jr make a great sliding catch. He is a true five-tool player.

If that's the worst you get, I would tempt fate and get another one! ;)
I got the last one in stock.
I only want one anyway.
Arriving later this week, hopefully.

Temperature here is at 26c.
Younger granddaughter is here with her school books. Dawn being an ex-lecturer will be looking through them. In fact she is commenting on them at present. Appears Julia has done very well. (Takes after our side of the family at good things ;)🤣)

Happy Monday! It's 86F/74% on the patio today.

Finally got my stew made last night, and even ate some; yummy! Will eat more tonight, and probably freeze the rest for future lazy nights. Haven't tried that yet with this.

Didn't get to see the folks yesterday after all; they decamped for Richardson, so I'm watching their house for them. Mixed up information coming from up there, so I'm waiting to see what they have to say tonight to get a handle on the situation with my uncle. It wasn't sounding good last I heard.

Today maybe I can finish that stupid camera. It's the only thing holding me up from moving on to actively working on the train room itself. I did some work on the last piece for it yesterday, and I think I have a rough plan. It's pretty dumb that the casing and mount are harder to design than the electronic hardware and the software, both of which are already functional!

I wouldn't mind some McDonalds; the $5 meal is a surprisingly good deal. I have stew to eat, though, so not going there right now.

Have a good week everyone!

A surprise as 2 packages via UPS arrived this morning. 2 cartoons from Scaletrains and definitely unexpected and it was about an hour after they arrived I got an email from an old client saying that 2 packages should arrive today. I told him they are here.

More diesels to weather
Have you seen any of the retailers, that have the newly released JTC Amazon Prime containers?

I see they are in stock at JTC and the only vendor that has had them listed is Hiawatha Hobbies, but they are at full MSRP of $70.00
for a 3 pack.

I have sent 2 messages to Lombard Hobbies in the last week to see if they were going to get any in, but sadly they haven't responded
to either of the 2 messages sent.

I would love to add another 12 or so to add to the Scaletrains I bought last year, but not at $70.00.

Dollar for dollar the McDonalds Quarter Pounder is the best hamburger my money can buy. Burger King's Whopper is a close second. Just my opinion of course.

No amount of money can buy a better burger than my wife's homemade burgers. My grandson agrees with me on this one, "Nagyi, this is the best hamburger ever!"

Nagyi is a Hungarian term of endearment for grandmother.
