Good late afternoon. Terry spoke to our son this afternoon about the floods and are they affecting him. His response was no, so of. His new place is in Wimberley, Texas about 45 minutes south off Austin, about 45 minutes north of San Antonio but not too far east of the part of the very damaged Hill Country. Part of his ranch is on the Blanco River and while not dangerous to him it has overflowed the banks. He was told where the floodplain was on his property and he said the waters are about 500’ over from what he was told. The original house on the property is high and dry. He has a compound of 3 tiny new houses and he said no issue there either as it’s on a knoll but quite a ways from the river. They left Friday for the girlfriend’s house in Austin during the storms that brought so much flooding. So they are fine.

I’ve seen some videos on YouTube and it is devastating

Same here in MD, but since you can buy them in PA

But technically, a Pennsylvanian cannot buy fireworks sold in PA??????? Only to folks from surrounding states. Now Jersey, is more convoluted.
Fireworks as described by Mike in his post, are "Illegal" in Jersey. Only Sparklers are permitted. Yet everything mike cited in his post is sold in Jersey. Roadside Stands, ShopRite, Target and Walmart, BJ's Warehouse. They all have huge displays. Locals don't have to go to SC any longer. They are also sold for the New Year, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and even Thanksgiving.

For all the frenzied celebration, only one guy had one blow up in his hand yesterday.

Our New Neighbors do not celebrate Independence Day... Beside, their Sabbath began at Sunset. Which made the area quieter than it was in previous years, although some of the neighbors tried to make up for it with sheer volume. Most were finished by Midnight.

Some of us I'm sure can relate!

Thankfully I have outgrown that nonsense, but most of my neighbors have not.
I haven't and I still have all ten fingers!

If my grandsons had been here, we would have been blowing some 💩 up and loving it!

We no longer have a big 4th of July party. None the less my grandsons still came over to set off fireworks, but not this year. :(

I was sound asleep before sunset. I need a neighbor like Bubba.

I enjoy commercial fireworks displays. But I prefer to be up close, in the danger zone.

This song is not about fireworks, but I was reminded of it when I wrote this post, and it is too cool!

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with at least 7 fingers still left...

It's Troy again...

Nothing new here. Worded a few words yesterday. Did a bunch of paint on miniatures, but mostly washes, and repainting old color into new color (old owner went with green and orange accents, I'm doing blue/teal accents.

Hoping my shipment of special water comes in so I can make my Orgeat and start making tiki drinks tonight.

Heading to the game store in a couple hours, to see if I can pilot the Dwarves with any luck. Not skill, just luck. I'm not a strong player, but I can push models around the table, and roll dice. My dice hate me, but I roll them anyway.

Here's a pick-me-up to kick your day off. The girls a darn sight cuter than Mick and Keith, so enjoy...

I understand, but both comments were funny! 😁 Even in the blue state of Maryland.
They were. They could, and probably would, open the door to stuff that is more toward the offensive, then more. Where do you draw the line? Bob said "none", so that's where we are. I know I've certainly posted harsher stuff in other parts of the interwebs, just not here.

Good afternoon all. A cloudy day with showers.
Flo. I am late to the Diner, a large coffee please.

A quiet day here this side of the pond. Hopefully I can sneak into the train room later.

My recent visit to Corrour Station on the West Highland Railway line (Ex-North British Railway.)
