Educators are supposed to be smart! They've had almost five months to figure out how they can reopen safely. I am tired of reading and hearing about this already.
What they should've done is the kids that really need help have summer school and use this time to see what will work and what won't. Having a few kids is easy to figure things out is much better than the whole gang in school.

Toot, some sound systems are more sensitive than others. I got rid of my BWL AC6000 due to the Paragon 2 and 3 were too sensitive to little imperfections in track that others had no problem.

Afternoon fellers. I hope everyone is doing well. Became an official member of the C&O Historical Society last week. Ofcourse I ordered some goodies as well. Figured I'd share my haul with yall.

The books are free gifts for becoming a member. I ordered a chessie shirt. I also ordered a chessie mask. Seeing as how West Virginia is a wear a mask indoors while out in public state. I figured I would get a custom mask to wear out in public.

Boris: I'm not sure I understand what you mean by saying the 3-inch spacing ?
David: That's a typo. Spacing is 3 scale foot.

Curt: Bee Line was a marketing campaign. Essentially moving hot cars on two hour notice, using less than a full crew. Unions agreed to it in exchange for concessions in other areas.

Afternoon All,

Spent several fun hours with train friends yesterday but afterwards I have 4 stops to make and was beat when I got home. Today we went over to daughter's house and put together grandsons room and put together the new dining room table that was delivered (daughter's). Of course it was missing some hardware to mount the glass top so daughter or SIL will have to figure that out.

Terry- Like others mentioned I would get a lawyer.

Garry- Glad your surgery went well. I've had it go both ways.

Karl- Wasn't Precision Scale part of BLI years ago? I might be thinking of a different company.

TomO- Nice looking skirt.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Curt: I looked at your various postings I could never find a copy of your layout so if you would send me copy I'd appreciate it or direct me to the link that has it. David

Boris: So are saying the loco is able to move that slow for coupling moves ?
That's very good.

Glad to hear you're progressing so we'll.
I'm still using my rolling walker to get around. My left foot is a bit swollen but I'm still able to get around. Funny thing is I pee just fine ?

Morning all,

Possibility of rain later this afternoon and overnight. The rain we've had in the area last week amounted to less than 1/4" so we need some real rain.

Got the dryer finished on Saturday after I got home. Now I gotta get the vent cleaned. Never seen wet lint in a vent hose from the dryer before. There was a wet spot on the floor under the exhaust pipe before I hooked the dryer up. I know it isn't plugged up completely.

Educators don't run the schools, politicians do. Educators work for the school board.

And we're all tired of the pandemic and what it is doing. Locally, we have way too many folks with barely enough sense to claim their rights, but refusing the responsibilities that go with those rights.

Good Monday Morning Everyone. Clear, almost sunny and 75° here on the SFW estate this morning. Weather guessers have changed the monotonous sunny, hot and dry forecast by throwing in a thunderstorm chance for Wednesday. Days have been a little cooler lately, low-90's temperature wise, so outdoor stuff isn't as stifling.

Scrambled eggs and a big pile of sausage patties for me today Flo.

Thanks for the comments and likes yesterday: Karl, Joe, Tom O, Jerome, Phil, Garry, David, Curt, Tom, Chad, Guy, Patrick.

I am pretty much down to the finish line on the layout cleanup project. Finished dusting off all structures up to the packing plant, Sears and the following two railroad served industries.
Magic Pan Bakeries is a Walther's structure that I have added an additional tank to, for vegetable oil storage.

The four skinny tanks are for flour and sugar.
Then I have the Whitewater Brewery.

Whitewater is a DPM "Gold Series" kit that I expanded with DPM modular walls to make a much larger structure.
In front of the two businesses is a small "Trading Post", across the road is a Chinese restaurant.

It is one of the four signs available for the Blair Line laser-cut model of "Tourist Trap". Yep! That's a stuffed and mounted bear on the porch. I also have an Indian totem pole somewhere to add.

Tom O - Regarding the Walther's sale items. When there was a more local LHS to me, the owner told me that as a Walther's distributor, he would always meet any Walther's sale prices. They would then rebate to him the difference.
Joe -
Too many groups of interested parties here, politicians, unions, parents groups, too many irons in the fire to make rational decisions.
You got that right. And who's left that is not represented? The kids!
Mikey, Joe, Garry, Curt - Yes the Jersey inference is there intentionally. Pizzaland is a spitting image of the real thing as seen on The Sopranos, and the Hoffa Cement truck is definitely in reference to Jimmy. Just don't have room for the Meadowlands.
David - Those sides of beef are supposed to be hanging on a rail on the loading dock behind the reefers. Just haven't figures out how Walther's attached them.
Justin - Nice haul. That will keep you busy for a while.
James - Hope that you have access to a hydraulic log-splitter. That stuff would be a bitch to do manually.

Fifty one years ago today, Neil Armstrong made his famous extraterrestrial walk on the moon. Where were you?

Everybody have a great day.

Finally, someone who knows how it works. Teachers have been great, I keep asking my sister and my wife when they taught what part of the day did they teach Socialism. Seems they didn’t. Politicians have been ruining schools since WWII ended. The ruin of our schools are billionaires like DeVos who only know how great private schools are so they pull money from public education and give it to “charter” which are basically private schools and don’t have to teach the curriculum that public schools have to to qualify for State funding.

Good morning. It may not hit 80 on the deck in So. Central Wisconsin. It is a refreshing day, but it is a 1 day reprieve.

Willie, I asked my LHS and he says he’s screwed when they beat his discounted pricing. He says he’s fine making 13% on goods but will not go below that. Maybe, he is unaware of the rebate program or it’s gone! I am heading to the LHS when he opens at 10, I will ask him. This is my feel guilty I did a Walthers direct purchase trip.

Like my hair, the grass needs a trim but it will wait. We took the grandkids and their parents to ice cream last night. Felt weird with face masks, social distancing marked on the floor, limited people in the store and then picnic tables closed together. The picture is part of the heavy work side of the Paper Mill. Enjoy your day.

Being a Wood Turner, would love to have a stash of ash like that lol.

I got a few burls out this too. If you are close by you can come get some lol there is enough for 3 winters for me. I wish I had one of them portable saw mills. It would of been nice to take a few slabs and not chop it up but next time. I have a few more trees to deal with later. Ash, Black walnut and white oak.

Nice stuff Willie. Just one thing though. If it were me, I'd put the trading post out on the road somewhere. I could be wrong here, but since that brewery is in an industrial/urban area I'd do a hot dog joint or Fred & Red's, or even a little tavern there. Those "rubber hatchet joints" tended to be out on the road. Just my opinion, which is worth every penny you paid for it! It is an interesting little building and I love those JL Innovative soda machines! I have a pretty good collection of them. I wish they did candy and cigarette machines too!

Another monday.....for the working folks it's the dreaded back to work monday. I made an impulse purchase yesterday. Couldn't help myself. At $60 a piece I felt it was a steal especially seeing what single units are selling for on ebay. I purchased 3 P2K GP30s for $180. Do I need anymore locomotives? For my current layout no. However if and when the time comes for a better space accommodation then yes ofcourse. I'll even throw in a pic of my Atlas GP7 I purchased as well.

I plan on doing a side by side comparison between the P2K GP7 I have and the Atlas one. There is plenty of differences between the two that's for sure. The P2K has the better details but the Atlas is a solid quiet runner as is the case with most Atlas locomotives. Not to take from my P2K which is also a solid runner as well.

Good Morning Everyone.....sunny and humid, but not as hot today.

Jerome:
Thanks for the tip on the paint to take the clear bulb to a red lamp. I forgot that in the past I used nail polish to "paint" a clear bulb. I used a real thin coat of the polish and it worked fine on the lamp. I'll finish the project later today of installing the lamp and flasher in a water tower and then wire it to the layout.

Yesterday, I finally ran the coal train in reverse through the reverse loop on the layout and it when through the loop perfectly. The normal direction of travel on the layout is counterclock wise and today I'll run trains in a clockwise direction.

I also finished installing the decoder in my Walther's SW1. I ended up using one of the Digitrax decoders I had in stock instead of the NCE decoder I ordered. It was a tight fit for the decoder and wire harness, but it did fit after some adjustments to the decoder location. The locomotive runs very smooth and quiet.

WigWag: We just had a 16 inch in diameter ash removed due to the EAB problem. We had been treating the ash for the borers, but we were not successful. I think the landscape contractor lacked the experience to treat ash with the various products on the market.

This time we had the removal contractor do the job from start to finish and then the cleanup of the wood chips, add the soil to level the area and grass seed. No work for me.

James:
I brought an "new" 8 ton electric log splitter at a rummage sale for only $50.00 and I use it to split mostly up to 8 inch white pine logs at cabin. We have no shortage of logs to split for campfires.

Going back down to the layout after lunch.

Greg
