Good morning from a cold but dry Wisconsin. -3f degrees but feeling like -19. Dress warm with a hat and gloves and you’ll be fine.

What is an Insurrection?

Another hockey game on campus today but at 11am! It feels like we are going to see a grandson’s hockey game. No idea why it’s so early but it is what it is! Badgers beat the Beavers of Bemidji yesterday 10-3. 3-3 after 1 period and then the ladies woke up. 9 seniors on Senior Day yesterday, 6 scored goals, the 7th had assists and the 8th player is the 3rd string goalie and she got to play the 3rd period. The 9th Senior is injured and will miss the Olympics she was picked for. Today is the last game for the Badgers 6 Olympians. 4 will play for the USA, 1 for Checsia and 1 trainer for Itlay. Because she’s injured before the Games the 7th Badger technically isn’t an Olympian, SEMANTICS!

The grandson’s hockey games because of the weather were cancelled this weekend, so they went to the Wisconsin Dells and an indoor water park. Supposedly having a great time

Enjoy the day, indoors!

Morning all,

6.6" of snow mostly dry and powdery. Currently 1° with the sun shining. I'll be headed out shortly to fire up the snow machine. Expecting to get above freezing mid week, before getting back into the cold.

Willie: Our bishop exempted us, but encouraged us to watch a mass on tv. We went last night anyway. Roads were snow covered on the passing lane, clear on the driving lane.

Good Morning - depending on your take of this winter situation a lot of us are experiencing. 12" and 8° here in western PA.

Put a roast in the slow cooker early this morning and will be eating good late afternoon.

Until then, I'll be working on a turnout that my 6-axle Kato intermittently derails at a certain speed. Then do some switching and back to building the Grain & Farm Supply warehouse.

30 - 60 years ago I couldn't wait for weather like this. Friends and I all had snowmobiles ☺️
Nowdays I'm happy staying inside and running the trains.

Happy MRRing 👍

The one thing I do like about my new Honda is the very useful computer touch screen. Everything's there, your radio, cellphone, maps, messages, etc. etc. It's all there. Very easy to call and talk hands free. The last new car I bought was 10 years ago had none of this. Swal

Ok, took about 30 minutes to clear. According to the weather station located in town, we had 6.8 inches. Fortunately, there wasn't a lot of drifting. Snow machine made quick work on a 65' 3 car wide driveway. I also did the smaller, shorter driveway for a handicapped neighbor. In all I was out about 50 minutes. The sun and light wind made it comfortable to be outside. I'll have to watch as the sidewalk is melting and I may need to put some ice melted on it later.

Burrrr and good morning, all! A reported 34 degrees here this morning. No ice in our area, and if the sun comes out as predicted we should dry up most of the roads. We are slated for a hard freeze tonight at 25 degrees. Today's high is 39. ERCOT, the Texas grid, has plenty of reserve power so there should be no issue there. Centerpoint, our local electric provider (hardware and wires) moved most of their assets to the norther part of their coverage area. This morning only 2,900 customers were without power. So, all in all, this part of the state escaped any real frozen precipitation or damage. Some overpasses north of Houston did see some icing.

Good aFternoon. It’s mostly sunny, windy, and 85. The strong wind out of the South is the leading edge of the storm system that everybody else has been dealing with. Between now and tomorrow night, the temp is supposed to go to nearly 90, (less than the original forecast) to around 25 by Tuesday at 6 am. It’s supposed to rain, but no indication of how much.

Overcast and 26F. Supposed to clear up and be sunny and mid 30s. Yesterday was blue after initial overcast but didn’t get above 30F. Was 17F at 1am this morning when I went to bed.

Except for tomorrow resting week is partial overcast and mid 40s to 50 one day. Tomorrow is sunny and low 40s.

Good afternoon, it's mostly cloudy and 86.
Social Security sent me an email telling me I had an updated statement. I checked, and am going to need to chat with them tomorrow. According to their records, the company that just went out of business and disincorporated reported I made $0 and paid $0 in Social Security for 2025. This could become interesting.

g-mornin'. Shed sensor reading 1C and the battery isn't charging. Sun is out and the sensor hanging on the AC outside unit is reading 8C, so hopefully the shed warms up soon.

Going to be going to the base today for some water and probably another humidifier. The Vicks is struggling now, so I broke out my ancient Crane. I've replaced the fan on this thing before and now the plastic is so brittle that it cracked a piece off while I was cleaning it. Don't want the rest of it to break while it is full of water.

These units don't have a humidistat so I have it on a inkbird controller, the one that folks use for their hidden, out of sight, perfectly legal if you don't catch me, greenhouses... :P

Well the know finally changed over to sleet and/freezing rain this afternoon, but not before it left this behind,

Lord knows how much more before it is supposed to stop around 4 a.m.

I did get the driveway clear earlier today, so there is only 4-6 remaining so that wont be too bad to get rid of tomorrow. I also will have to clear some more area in the back yard tomorrow so the dogs can go potty. There is a small part off the deck they can use now, but the little dog especially needs a bigger area. The Border Collie can go anywhere, but the little one almost does a faceplant in the snow trying to go relive herself.

When we lived where it snowed, I'd cheat by parking the truck in the yard next to the back steps before a storm. When it got done snowing, I'd pull the truck back into the driveway, leaving a truck-sized piece of grass for the dog to use.

Howdy all, got up to 22 today and mostly overcast. We only picked up a couple more inches of snow last night, so probably wound up with about 6-8" here. Gonna get down to 5F tonight. Watched our Church on livestream this morning, then family made the trek to our place for most of the afternoon. Just the Missus and I right now resting and both in our recliners. Everything around here is still closed and will probably be until Tuesday at the earliest.

Wow! You guys got buried!

Evening folks, its currently 21 and breezy. Had a good bit of sleet fall last night which ended up freezing, making everything slick and crunchy today. Only went outside twice today, once just to check things out and the other to make a drive across the pasture to the firewood pile. Just a lazy day overall.

I sure don't miss the days of having to scrape the ice off my front windshield. Having a carport really makes a difference with that for some reason. My neighbors have to scrape.

And here I am whining about 0C...

Now that was ingenious! Awesome!
