A very late Good Morning to All. Cloudy and 46°, upper 50's later today. Rain supposed to come tomorrow but it will be warmer.
The late start this morning is because I woke up around 0230 and couldn't go back to sleep. Eventually I crawled back into bed around 0600 and didn't set an alarm and just slept late. Ready to go now.
After the visit to the dermatologist office yesterday, I have a new cream to rub on for a week, that's supposed to bring my skin back to normal. The PA looked and took pictures and told me I did a good job. Had no suggestions when I told her it burned like hell, felt like shoe leather and just generally made my face feel miserable. She said that it was normal. Still supposed to avoid strong sunlight, but today will be cloudy. I won't be doing this procedure again!.
Got home and the lumberjacks were busily at work. They finished the agreed on area but their chipper was still in the shop. They hauled all of the brush off (2 trailers full), and will do it later and bring it back. I use that in the garden to loosen up my black clay soil. I usually get it from the power company contractors who trim around the power lines. No wildfires from power lines in this area. Most of the afternoon was spent doing household tasks, laundry and dishwasher specifically.
Today I plan to start to haul some of the various piles of firewood out of the yard and stack it up for next winter. It's mixed oak, honeylocust, pecan and hackberry; all hardwoods that have a high BTU value. I'll look at mowing some of the cleared area this weekend if the rain truly comes tomorrow.
Since we're posting pictures of squirrels, including
Troy's wife's squirrel stew; here is one I took of my resident one.
It hid acorns in an abandoned bird nest that year.
I had a short period of time out in the train shed yesterday afternoon. I started painting the walls of the Live Wire Manufacturing kit.
Easy part so far, then I got to the windows...not easy.
The problem is that the divider bars are quite thick and it requires a lot of maneuvering to paint the bars. In retrospect, I should have used the air brush or rattle can to paint them and painted the brick and concrete afterwards.
I still have a lot more pictures from the model railroad club that I need to sort through and post. Something to look forward to.
Patrick -
and why retirement is going to kill me.
Have a retirement plan before you get there. An ex-coworker of mine retired three times (that I know of), because he had no plan what to do. He always remarked that "you can only go fishing so many days a week"! He was in his mid-70's at the time and got another job after our company laid him off. He didn't need the money, but worked to stay busy.
Tom O - It's about time that the PT started doing you some good. Thanks for the beverages yesterday, I had the Sugar-Free A&W Root Beer.
Kalifornia can keep those 300,000 folks, we already have too many of them already. It takes too long to convert them to Texas politics.
Chad - If I'm needing something to carry the spices and flavorings, I can use a hunk of red meat instead of tofu!
Karl - Hapless Birthday.
Everybody have a great Tuesday.
