I was contemplating tearing my layout down and rebuilding. I was getting bored. I decided to just make one big change.

I wanted to move the theme to more of an "Ag" line, with larger industries that could take more than one car and provide more operation. I already replaced the cannery with a large feed mill operation and decided to replace the fuel oil operation since it was basically a single car facility.

I did a little scratch building and combined a couple of fertilizer operations to make a large fertilizer distributor. It needs a little more scenery, but I like how it came out.

Nice weathering on the buildings!

That concrete driveway in pic#3 is exceptionally well done!

I've found out most (nearly all) versions of Linux don't support Xeon processors and the dual AMD graphics processors this computer has. I'm going a different route, rather than contributing to my drinking problem by attempting to make something work that isn't supported.

I spent most of the day slow cooking my throw together hot dog veggie soup. When I finally ate it about 6 pm, I managed to stop at 3 cups. We will have leftovers for the next couple days in this cold weather.
I had a very pleasant package waiting for me in the mailbox. Montanan had an excellent collection of HO vehicles on his layout. I purchased some of those vehicles and they arrived today.
It has become difficult to find late steam era vehicles lately. This gives me a nice variety of vehicles with panel trucks, stationwagons and sedans. View attachment 256475
There are 3 Studebakers, 2 Nashes, a Jeep pickup and a Jeep Waggoner, which I have not seen for sale before.
Thanks, Chet for packaging the vehicles so well. We all know how well USPS tosses small packages around.

i believe I have more vehicles than rolling stock now.
I guess so PNKFLOYD These vehicles cost how much now? Swal

Good afternoon. It's windy and 36.
I pulled my Mac Pro out of storage, and am installing Linux on it, since the last supported OS is outdated to the point it is not getting security updates. It seems to be working, so far. More-or-less. Extremely slowly, though. It's a 12 core Xeon processor, so it should be virtually screaming, and it isn't. It's working more like a netbook from 1998.
Which Linux distribution? Some work better than others on the old equipment. I have an old 2008 MacBook and I out Linux in it last year. It works but is slow but in doing a little research some other distributions were mentioned as being better. I haven’t gotten around to reinstalling a different one yet.

I have an old 10* core Xeon Mac Pro from 2008. It has windows 10 installed on it at the HW level (no bot cannot anything) and a late 201x windows native video card. It worked ok last time I tried it. It’s for when I really need a windows machine and a VM won’t work. I don’t boot it very often. I was using it to program and control some DCC modules whose setup and control SW was windows only.

* I think it’s 10. I could be wrong. 2008 Mac Pro 3.0 ghz iirc.

Morning (actually here in the UK, now evening) all!

The tabloid press here in the UK have a notable habit of making their own totally unfounded weather related stories, usually something like the entire country is going to be subject to "Snow armageddon" which involves clicking a link, getting bombarded with spam and popups and then eventually finding some poor example of so called journalism that tells you precisely nothing.

Needless to say, it is well above freezing and raining, a lot....

So much that my attempts today to clear the backlog of HO scale spray painting jobs has ground to another halt!!
