Good morning all!

Still a bit cool around here. Currently 8F with an expected high of around 24F. We continue to improve a couple of degrees
each day. Should be mostly sunny.

Have a few things to get done today. Weekly grocery trip will have to be done this morning. I usually do it on Saturday, but we
were at the basketball tournament all day yesterday. We ended up taking second place, so all in all not bad considering we were
not very good at the start of the season.

Hopefully some basement time later tonight after dinner.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning...Coffee Flo, just leave the pot.
The days are one big blur, Never had this much North NW wind for an extended time like this. The Lake Effect streamers coming off Lake Ontario have been non stop. We get the roads cleaned up and a couple of hours later another 2-3" come down. I have not sat down to do any train stuff since after Christmas or somewhere in that time frame.
Tomorrow I guess we'll see what the rodent has to say about the rest of winter, his life may depend on the correct answer. 😇

This is the warmest winter we have ever had. No snow, no ice, and it's dipped below freezing maybe 4x total, for just a few hours.

Spring Daffodils will be open by the end of the week. Late Spring/early Summer Freesia will be open soon also. Insane climate this year.

Good afternoon gang!

I did wake up at 5 am, with a 5° temp. Ate some breakfast cereal then a migraine hit. Went back to bed til noon after consuming 4 Tylenols.
Friday while out shopping at DSW I found a pair of shoes I really liked, but they did not have my size in stop. I ordered them expecting to see them in 4-6 days from what the sales guy said. Sunday at noon they arrived! Now I am waiting for the Amazon delivery that is supposed to be coming. Louis are you bringing it??

Woke up to this. Not much (4") but for central NC it's a major hassle. Got out and got everything shoveled (the northerner in me). Now I'm safe and warm in the shop weathering cars.

Be safe, stay warm everyone!!

Same here Marlin. No measured rain yet this year and my plum trees are starting to show some color. Tangerines are perfect. Hope we don’t get barred for showing these pics.

well, howdy there internet peeps, including the frozen ones down south.

It's Troy again.

Got back from the game store. Went because we had four players said they'd be there, plus me. Our new group plays two games. One is a sci-fi futuristic Corporations Rule dystopian battle game called Firefight (it's Mantic Games answer to "40K", IYKYK). Futuristic solders and equipment shoot-em-up stuff. with space elves, space dwarves. But, it's a skirmish game, where any casualties are removed one by one. Each dude is moved individually. Not my preference in setting or style, but it's a tight rules set.

I play the other game with fantasy orcs and dwarves etc. One player who wanted to play this one, didn't show up, so I let the others do their Space sci-fi corporations battle for control of the cosmos.

Came home, and let the wife have the car to visit her mother. I stayed home to make terrain. Looks like I'll be lead person on the fantasy game, so I need enough hills and forests, etc to make a couple of tables to play on.

So: Today is hills! I repurposed a bunch of off cuts from the various foam pieces in the various iterations of my MRR layout. Found some Khaki paint in the stack of cans, and started going to town with them. Once the brush was cleaned and the can lid replaced, I got the dirt and WS Blended Turf shakers out.

Once the paint is dry, I'll shake off the excess for other projects, and hit these with some scenic glue, and sprinkle more into the bare spots. I might try some static grass with the applicator, but only with the short grass so it can be stored in a tote and stand up to some abuse.

Other than an average painful morning with the piriformis syndrome, I'm doing better today than before. Currently only one pain pill working on the nerves. Still hurts to stand for longer than a moment or two. But I'm glad it's easing up.

Good afternoon. It's windy and 36.
I pulled my Mac Pro out of storage, and am installing Linux on it, since the last supported OS is outdated to the point it is not getting security updates. It seems to be working, so far. More-or-less. Extremely slowly, though. It's a 12 core Xeon processor, so it should be virtually screaming, and it isn't. It's working more like a netbook from 1998.

Good day to all forum dwellers........

Sunny and clear in west Texas today.

I have noticed we have an abundance of Red Cardinals this year. I think they are also referred to as Northern Cardinals.
I don't remember seeing quite so many in the past years. We have a local roadrunner but I have not seen him/her in about three months.
I worked on a drafting project late last night and was coming in from my building and heard an owl hooting. Owls are neat birds and it does my heart good have one nearby.

My cat is enjoying being out in the sunshine and warmer weather.

I received my e-bay loco purchase in good shape yesterday so that is a good thing.

Hoping everybody is having a wonderful day......John
