Have a great day! ;)

This is more like seasonal temperatures in a Wisconsin February. It’s 5f degrees feels like 5! The heat wave in the 30’s late Thursday and all day yesterday is gone. The next 7 day guess per the weather app shows no days above freezing, mainly 20’s. Above seasonal though!

Today is a hockey day. The grandson has games at 9:45am and 7:45pm at home. We head to campus for a #1 Badger Women game versus #2 Ohio State at 3pm. The Badgers have 5 players at the Olympics the buckeyes 4! But they play conference games anyway. Last week the Badgers played Minnesota 2-3 in overtime and then beat the #3 Gophers 5-1 in Minneapolis. Again 5 gone from Badgers 3 from Minnesota. The Women play in the Olympics sometime this afternoon on Peacock but I don’t remember or care that much about the Olympics. If we r home though Terry will watch

I have my new styrene sheets and Sintra put away ready for use. Depending how the grandson’s team plays today will tell me my schedule for Sunday. But I plan to add a stand up cutting station I can fold down in the storage area as 24” x 48” styrene and 24” x 60” Sintra are too big for cutting at either of my current workspaces. I can clear one space entirely for the 48” sheet but it’s still too tight. So hopefully the g/s team plays well today to continue Sunday, but either Sunday or Monday I’ll have a new spot to cut.

I doubt today I’ll see my train room except to grab a soda from the frig!

Enjoy your day

I'm buying a treadmill tomorrow. After the age of 60 your chances of getting insulin resistance are good. They say exercise such as walking after eating will let your muscles draw out sugar from your blood stream. I already do a lot of walking in the summer but almost none in the winter months. So, starting tomorrow I'll start walking inside. Swal

The machine that goes no where. I absolutely hate our treadmill. But 6 days a week I walk 2-3 miles on it. 15 to 20 minute miles at 2% to 4% grade. The inclines are random per what the machine senses. Positive attitude and good tunes will help with the boredom. I will also sometimes replay YouTube content providers while walking. Harder to concentrate on new material so I rewatch to reinforce what I had seen before. Enjoy because yes it is boring but really helpful to your health

Evening folks and happy Friday, currently 58 and clear. Got all the way up to 82 today and felt fantastic! Ended up laying some primer down on a couple loco shells I've been working on, planning to go into town tomorrow to grab some paint and glue. Not sure what else the weekend has planned for me yet.

Our son lives in Austin. Text messaged only said 84! I replied back 36 and wearing shorts! Wisconsin was warm yesterday

Tom we had one here at one time. It was my wife's and I used it maybe once. I gave it away after my wife died. I was thinking I didn't need it back then but now I changed my mind. When I got back my kidney eGFR number of 65 and they say exercise after eating draws out the sugar from your blood I need to do this. That's why I'm buying one today. I'll play my speaker's music list while walking. Swal

Good morning all!

Currently 12F with an expected high of only 25F. Not as warm as the last couple of days but the long range still is showing above
average temps starting tomorrow. Should be a fairly sunny day so that will help.

Have a funeral to attend later this morning. It was my wife's aunt. She was 93 and lived a very full and productive life. We are also going to
meet my parents later on tonight for dinner. They leave for Texas to stay with my sister for a few weeks, so they wanted to get together
before they leave Monday. Pretty busy day with not much downtime.

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

Currently 27° and clear, high today of 60°. Going as high as 70 on Monday, we'll see.

Got a procedure on Tuesday to fix a trigger finger on my right hand. It should be an hour or so in and out. Done with a local in the Dr's office.

Taxes done and filed. Getting $600 from Feds, owe Kansas $300. Wife was trying to figure out why we didn't get a larger refund until I reminded her that the moving of income from the 401K to the Roth taxes the money moved as income.

Working this morning and almost ready to start the server reboots. Should be a quick morning until I jinx it by saying it should be a quick morning.

Bob: Thanks for Dark Mode. I run my machines and browsers in Dark mode.

Good Morning All. Clear and 41°, heading for a much cooler 70° today. It was 82° yesterday! It's probably Spring here since I saw a pair of rabbits cavorting about the yard yesterday. The Cardinals have been out in full force for about a month now.

Just did household chores yesterday, still catching up. Spent a lot of time out in the yard, since the weather was really fine. Made some headway on re-stacking and consolidating the multiple firewood stacks. I don't think that I am done for the season yet but it needed to be done before grass starts growing and makes the job more difficult. Looks like more outdoor stuff for the next few days.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I once again just ran some trains. Let's just say that I was breaking in some of the ScaleTrains engines that I got last fall. These GP30U's are sweet-running engines that are fast becoming my favorites. One reason is that they get cabooses whereas the Dash9-44CW's don't. So far in their 10 or so years in business, they remain their only 4-axle power in HO scale.

Not much to comment on today. I pretty much ignore AI right now and I still haven't been mentioned in the Epstein releases.

Everyone have a super Saturday.

I'm still awake. It's around 2325. I was running my trains and kept on going. Ran my two Kumoha 40s that I just finished my DCC install on, a D51, Mogul, did some shunting with a 0-4-0 steam shunter and broke in my N scale ED42 that I just got today. Brain is fried and eyes burned out. Good night and enjoy your day.

Good on you for taking steps to improve your health! ;)

Exercise helps the body use glucose more effectively, which can lower blood sugar levels.

Drink water- Staying well‑hydrated can improve kidney function, because our kidneys need enough water to filter waste effectively.

The human body prefers glucose (sugar) for energy, but it can also burn fats and proteins. Extra energy from food gets stored as fat.

Proteins can be converted into glucose when needed, but most fats cannot.

Our bodies can turn certain amino acids (from protein) into glucose. This happens mostly when carbohydrate intake is low. It’s a backup system, not the primary fuel pathway.

Fats break down into fatty acids - used directly for energy and glycerol which can be converted to glucose in small amounts.

Stored fat is held in our body as triglycerides. When our body needs energy, it breaks those triglycerides into usable energy, fatty acids and glycerol.

Lessons I learned the hard way as a diabetic with kidney disease.

Swal you are setting a good example for us all!

Good Saturday morning folks. Wow, dark mode looks great. Much easier on the eyes, but particularly in the evening. Thanks Bob!

29°F here heading for mid-to upper 30s today before warming up again tomorrow. Snow is getting more shallow as the days pass. I can see some ground in a few places, and the patio table snow all melted or sublimated away, but it still looks deeper farther out in the yard. My front yard never sees sun in winter as it faces north about 345° and it is still well covered in snow, while the neighbor across the street has a lot of ground showing.

I might put an apple pie in the oven later today. I hope the whipped cream is still good. It's in a can so it should be OK. Still shopping for my newest Walther. Hundreds to choose from in various conditions, none are perfect unless NIB, and even that is not true 100% of the time.

Have a safe weekend! Servus!

Something else, which I’m guessing is a response to the huge AI scraping of websites and forums, is I am constantly being forced to verify myself, and checking my browser before being allowed onto Fleabay. I am getting very, very tired of having to complete a captcha with every single item I click on. Other places are using Cloudflare to make sure users are real humans.

I received a call last night that I was needed to appraise a collection on Wednesday. If the shop and client can agree on a price I will have a lot more to list online. IF we get it and IF there are any Walthers I will let you know before they are listed. My guess is that it will be a bunch of Winchesters and Colts again.
