Morning all,

41° and sunny. A bit cooler today as we're only supposed to get to 58° later for the high.

We're off to the tax people in a bit. Once I'm done moving money around, I'll probably start to do my own taxes again. Not sure how much I'll have to move this year, but it seems it's growing ok. Been thinking about backing off the aggressiveness in stocks a bit. I need it to grow...but if I can work until 70, I'll have about another 100,000+ to retire with. I'll start drawing at full retirement and only have federal taxes on the SS side of things. Kansas doesn't tax SS nor will they tax the KPERS when I start to take it. But best laid plans...

That’s not the point. He said the AI system was saying incorrectly “one two hundred” and not the expected “twelve hundred” (or one thousand two hundred)

As I learned doing my audiobooks with AI, the human involved needs to change the script to read "twelve-hundred" or "Ruger ten-twenty two" Arabic numerals confuse it, because it treats them as math. It's a computer, after all.
 


Hi from Wisconsin. We reached our high of 36f degrees at 9:30. Almost 1 hour later we are at 30. Mother Nature is having fun.

Taxes! Terry is pretty good about not letting the US Government borrow our money. But she was confused last week when she was working on our personal stuff as the refunds or payment usually is $100 or less. But 4 figures from each was a shock, so she re-did them after walking away and the same refund numbers again. Filed online and the Federal refund is pending and State acknowledged they received the forms. She knows where the issue was, a one time withdrawal from a now closed account. Because of the amount the investment company said we had to withhold taxes. Terry didn’t question the number so both State and Federal were paid too much.

The business taxes can be done and has been done in the past by Terry but she lets the accountants handle it under certain administrations. This is one of those times. Too many changes! We will know what we get back after they file in March. I am an advocate of the 1st $50,000 earned is not taxable but no deductions for anything and a flat across the board 10% fee for everyone

The guys were at the plastics distributor already and they said around noon to deliver my portion. The storage rack has been straightened out, so I am ready for them.

Just a quick update for those interested.

By midday on the 3rd February we had a full load of containers and left Italy.

We have entered the Atlantic after being 'in the queue passing Gibraltar'.
We have now increased speed and head north.

I have not read much of the thread, but I understand one or two are nor feeling 100%.
Our thoughts and prayers to those who require and a speedy recovery.
 
Good morning, all! The old pill box says F, therefore it must be Friday. Weather wise, we are in for 4 Chamber of Commerce days and then possibly some rain. Not much on today's calendar, a run to the pharmacy and hopefully some train time.

Hello folks, a sunny 67 here as I recover from screwing up my back Monday. Prayers continuing for those in need.
Willie, I had to chuckle at your Nurse Ratchet comment, I have been very fortunate to have been blessed with extremely nice nurses over my own Hospital escapades.
Troy, you bring back memories of assembly line painting with those orkz. A friend of mine and I once painted over 200 Imperial Guard in one day for a competition. Yikes, never again. BTW, do you know why Space Wolves like hunting orkz? Orks come from fungus, fungus makes mushrooms, mushrooms mean pizza and pizza means Beer!

Should and Do are two seperate things. The text to speech is one of the lagging tech sides of AI. They've been working on getting emotion, breath, cadence, accents, etc. It'll come, but it's lower on the priority list than above.
 


Got the lab results back from Monday's procedure, actually I just looked at them. I think that I got them Wednesday. All polyps and other cultures came back negative.
I just read some sad news about Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback, and perennial curfew breaker Sonny Jurgensen, who died at age 91.
 
I made a post several days ago about me buying an item on e-bay and the shipper sending the package by FedEx. The seller is in Spring Texas about 390 miles away from me. I guessed the item would go out of state twice before coming to me.
Well, quite the opposite. I checked the shipping status today and got this:

Monday, 2/2/26 9:51 PM Shipment information sent to FedEx
Ship date : Will be updated soon

Well, either the seller created a shipping label and has not taken the package to FedEx or FedEx is just sitting on the package.
In the 4 days that have elapsed, I could have driven to Spring Texas and picked up the package.

I think I'll contact the seller on e-bay and try to find out whats going on. Wish me luck !

E-bay says expected delivery date for my item is Feb 7, 2026......That is tomorrow.🤣🤣

I'm buying a treadmill tomorrow. After the age of 60 your chances of getting insulin resistance are good. They say exercise such as walking after eating will let your muscles draw out sugar from your blood stream. I already do a lot of walking in the summer but almost none in the winter months. So, starting tomorrow I'll start walking inside. Swal

It is freezing today. Guessers are showing snow dudes today. Skies are overcast today, so who knows, they may actually be right today. It is 0910 right now and no slurries yet.

Was going to disinfect my humidifiers today, but that'll have to wait since I am a fair weather humidifier disinfecter guy.
