Same Ol' Buzzard
Good Morning All. Foggy again and 46°, but this fog is only about the lowest 20' or so, clear overhead. Not like yesterday's fog that was extremely dense with visibility estimated by me at less than 150'. I could barely see the train shed from the back porch. Expecting 78° today (and through Saturday) after 73° yesterday. Local trees will slip out of dormancy this week, only to be nipped by a frost in early March. Or maybe not! I've seen it both ways.
Seems that the pulmonologist visit went well yesterday. He was pleased and expects me to live until my next appointment with him a year from now. On the way home, I stopped at Home Depot and got another 100 onion plants, this time I got the White Bermuda that I missed on the other day, then went to Hobby Lobby for some craft paints and a few new pointer paint brushes. Used my remaining January fuel points to get a 60¢/gal gas reduction. Regular is still around $2.69 everywhere.
Once home and after lunch, I planted all of those onion plants and I really feel it today after doing the same thing Sunday. A little more relaxed today as I will be planting Radish seed. I only plant about 20 seeds at a time spaced 3 weeks apart, so I don't overwhelm. One can only eat so many Radishes at a time. They will keep well in the fridge, but that's later this season.
In order to fill out my working report, I went to the train shed yesterday. I had set aside another laser-cut wood structure that had the cardstock roofs warped from the missing shed roof last May. Can I salvage this one? Or will I need to start over with styrene and roofing strips.
At present, they are all off and are under weights after a slight misting from the IPA/water bottle. I intend to add a few stiffeners to the small side roof and just use Gorilla Glue and weight on the main roof. The stiffeners on it haven't warped, only the corners and the paper roofing.
I plan on more time out there in the next few days now that the onion bed is done.
Swal - OK, on the layout huh! I already document that here. Can I stay???
Tom O - Living in Texas isn't really bad. But you gotta like HOT summers. There probably isn't as many layout operating groups here like you have where you are.
Terry - Paper employees really do exist in government. My sister is an example, albeit from back in the late 80's. She worked at the time at the Department of Education and decided that she was going to leave and take the "mommy-track". Her supervisor offered her a cushy job of just coming in two days a week for just two hours each day (with her kid) at full salary if she would stay. She came in and read newspapers and clipped articles out that referenced the Education Department and put them in a folder for her boss. It turns out that if her supervisor had one less employee working for him, his job wouldn't be needed and he would be transferred to Timbuktu or somewhere similar. She left after three boring months.
Today would have been George Harrison's 82nd birthday had cancer not claimed him in 2001.
Fog is now almost completely gone and it's up to 55°, time to open a few windows. Everyone have a great Tuesday.
