Same Ol' Buzzard
OK, I found the new place. Flo and Francine are ready to serve you. Watch out for the fresh paint. Ray, see if you can find Louis and tell him it's open.
Good morning, not so good of a day yesterday, but it could have been much worse. While I was working my oldest Beagle, Tucker (Houdini), escaped from the back yard when my wife let him out after work. The wind had blown an empty trash can over and up against the fence. Tucker used it to jump the fence. He was attacked by a Pit Bull. My little wife and a neighbor lady bravely got Tucker away to safety. Tucker had a severe gapping wound on his left side of his neck that ran another 8" to his chest. Fortunately the pit bull retreated and little ladies were not injured.
My wife and daughter took Tucker to Eastern Animal Hospital and they did emergency surgery. Tucker is now resting in a recliner and doing good. The surgery was successful, they were able to close the gapping wound. He has over a dozen staples and a drain installed. He will look like Frankenstein, but otherwise he should make a full recovery. The initial visit and surgery cost almost $1800 and he will need a few follow up visits. There goes $2500 or more, but I still have my Tucker.
The neighbor lady who helped told my wife, Tucker was trying to play with the Pit Bull, but the Pit Bull had other ideas. Tucker teased him running up and down the fence when the Pit Bull forced his head under the chain link fence of his yard, grabbed Tucker and dragged him under the fence into his yard. Tucker rolled onto his back to submit, but the Pit Bull attacked him again and would not let go, fiercely waving his head from side to side with Tucker in his mouth.
The neighbor who's yard it is and his Pit Bull was no where to be found when I got home. I don't have a legal case against him. Tucker initiated the conflict and his dog never left his yard. I do want him to do something about that fence!
