Good Evening All. Just dropping in to say hello because I must rise and shine early due to being called for jury duty tomorrow morning at our county courthouse 22 miles away. They're asking for "business casual" dress which I don't really own any of! But business casual in Texas can include a golf shirt and blue jeans, which is what I wore to work for 40+ years. It works for church, so why not a courthouse?
Maybe I'll be disqualified if the defendant happens to be my incarcerated neighbor.
See you whenever. Good Night.

Evening folks, so this is what the first page of the Coffee Shop looks like 😁

Not much happened today, weather stayed in the 40s and was pretty windy all day. Did get the fake Christmas tree out, assembled, and wrapped with lights.

Willie - Got a jury summons in last week, only been picked once before so we'll see how this one goes.

Good morning, Everyone on this chilly first day of December.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting "unsettled weather for the upcoming week." I don't like the sound of that. I need to get the snow blower out of the shed.

My Birds (Baltimore Orioles) signed closer Ryan Helsley to a two-year, $28 million contract that includes an opt-out after the first season, sources are reporting, pending a physical.

It was a move that surprised and disappointed quite a few of the “big money” teams. Helsley, one of the most sought-after relievers on the free agent market, could return to being one of the best closers in the game. If he does it will make him a perfect one-year rental. By then, Orioles’ closer Felix Bautista (the Mountain) should be back from the injured list. Another brilliant move by Mike Elias!

I saw the Colts-Texans game, then I feel asleep. I saw the end of the Washington-Denver game. Both were good games.

@Texas Hobo Keep an eye on the Texans. After starting 0-3, they’re red-hot and rolling! The Texans have an elite defense, a young star quarterback surrounded by playmakers on the flanks. With a capable coaching staff and a veteran running back. They’re shaping up to be a team no one will want to meet in the playoffs.

I missed the Steelers getting spanked by the Bills, in Pittsburgh no less! I would have enjoyed that.

Have an enjoyable day Everyone!

Today was challenging. Installing a DCC decoder in my Hornby J52 and wired the headlight circuit onto the adapter board. Blue wire is COM+, which is pin 6 for NEXT18. White wire is headlight, which is pin 8. Got it all wired in and the headlamp doesn't work. I find out that I put the blue wire on pin 8.

Next up is wiring the DCC controller to the track, requiring me to build an extension cable. Blue wire is +, white wire is - for Kato connector. Plan was to go blue to the red wire of a 22 AWG wire and white to the black wire. Finish one side and getting ready to heatshrink the connection when I realize that I put the blue wire on the black.

Two instances of getting a 50% chance, 100% wrong.

I had mentioned I received 1000 ft of Lionel track free on this forum the other day along with some electronics. A golf friend of mine said he wanted to start a layout. I told him I would give him some of the track and other things to get going. The picture below of the Lionel Trainmaster it what? Some kind of DCC unit? If he were to start a layout would this unit hook into a regular transformer. If so what kind of transformer? Swal
