Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 51°. Nice day again today with a cold front and slight chance of rain coming around midnight. Cooler temperatures for a few days and then upper-60's and low-70's beginning Monday. While Christmas day will be cloudy, it will be above 70°. Never did rain here yesterday, but it did nearby.
I got the "added bubble lights" on to the tree yesterday, and actually assisted with a few ornaments. It's not done yet, but getting there. Ornaments are not usually my responsibility. Waiting on the word to move the totes into the back bedroom until needed for take-down. I did pick up the chainsaw and did some minor cutting and trimming yesterday. I felt like I was ignoring it!

Haven't cut anything since last Wednesday. Mostly I worked on spring garden prep. This is a bit more difficult this year, since I ignored it all summer after the tornado devastated it in May. Almost all of the Tomato cages will have to be re-formed, as they got crushed by the flying metal roof from the train shed. Mainly, the weeds grew unabated and I'm dealing with that now. Grilled burgers and made homemade Onion rings for supper to cap off the day.
Today will be more firewood, this time "real" logs, as yesterday was mainly brush and kindling. Since I haven't had a fire in the wood-burning heater since Friday night, it's a perfect time to clean ashes out, not necessarily needed but take advantage of no embers. We might make a trip to town to do Christmas shopping. I also need to talk with the investment counselor where I have all of my retirement funds parked. The account that I am already required to take an RMD from, made too much in investments this year and might screw up my original withdrawal plan.
I almost didn't visit the train shed yesterday. Too nice of a day outside, but I finally went inside and did some minor tidying up and figure painting.
Pictures from the archive for today.
This is a pair of GP35's, from Kato that I use mainly for local switching, but occasionally they get called into service to run the scrap metal train from yard to yard.
Tom O - Ohhh! Liver & Onions is a favorite of mine. I agree with your server, I like it warm. We don't get near as humid as the Austin area since we're much further from the Gulf.
Todd - Happy belated birthday. I'll catch you at 73 next month.
Louis - Echoing what
Terry posted,
David's last post was quite concerning.
Today is the 88th birthday of Pope Francis.
Everybody have a great day.
