Afternoon all!

Woke up yesterday feeling crappy! Still not feeling great today but wanted to do a quick check in.

Kind of a dreary day with rain off and on this morning then thunderstorms this afternoon. Currently a humid 77F. That is probably
our high for today.

Did manage to do a couple loads of laundry this morning and not much else.

Yea the team that everyone is saying will be going to the world series and thats who the cubs want to be good against. That is indeed baseball lol
 
Just as I setup outside the rain started at 10:15 this morning. More of an annoying rain than anything helpful to the ground. So I walked over to the bench and started back on a bridge I started a few weeks ago. Terry came over after about 30 minutes and said the rain had stopped. I worked for another hour and decided enough get some fresh air. Headed outside and there is a slight mist in the air so now I’m just overlooking the trees outside while the bridge glue dries. Set the alarm for 90 minutes. Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago. Today I am assembling these parts

It’s a laser cut kit. Architectural Taskboard not wood or styrene. Taskboard is compressed paper!

Ok, I have railed about Walthers terrible written instructions sheets in the past. Well that’s not an issue with this kit! There are no line by line written instructions. See where it says BEGIN BY GLUING, that’s the instructions and this is perfectly fine by me

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have all the subassemblies ready for sealing tomorrow. I need to get a sealant not water based to seal the fibers on the taskboard before spray painting. I only have water based and it’s been years since I’ve used a solvent based sealant. After I seal it I can use any of my Aryclic paints. I’ll be using Mission Models, some Army Painter and Badger colors as I begin to use up all my odd brand paints
 
@TLOC , eeks and egads even! Best wishes on that, hopefully you will be satisfied with it as it will demand a great deal of effort.

Anyway, Karl quit flirting with the nurses and get well and home.

93 here now, been running errands since 830 this morning, got home, took a 20 minute Power Nap and now have set down to check forums. Saw the Doctor, went to the Driver's License place to get new Handicap Parking hangers for the cars, survived Walmart even. Still hunting the elusive smaller tender for the 2-8-0. Found a bunch of decals in an unexpected spot, so I will log them in so I avoid ordering duplicates. Also, discovered an engine that is marked DCC ready, so I will have to scare up a decoder for it, a very cute Model Power 4-4-0.
Anyway, Church tonight, I will be doing Sheepdog duty. You guys have a great day.

The only thing I’m uncomfortable with right now is the sealant. I stopped using solvent based anything for health reasons but there is no alternative for this step. I don’t mind all the parts especially once I’m got a flow going. I may ask the daughter to spray these for me if she ever stops by her office today!

Actually went to YouTube and found "Wir in Bayern" by Bayerischer Rundfunk. I didn't find the episodes where they go ask people about words like Michael mentioned (they may be there -- long list of episodes). But the episodes I saw were very interesting. Worth perusing. If you don't speak German you can set YouTube to do auto-translate to English (with varying degrees of success).

I enjoy watching it every morning. I don't always understand every word, but context helps. Lots of cooking going on too.
