August already. Tomorrow we are very close to setting a new record for the lowest high temperature for 01AUG. We'll see what happens. Currently raining, and is supposed to continue on and off all day Saturday.
Severe weather turned out just as I forecast. A big nothing burger. I think I may have heard it thunder once. We had more thunder this morning.

Weather is predicted to be showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms toward daybreak, then showers with thunderstorms likely. Not as warm with highs in the mid 70s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.

It's Troy again
My spine is plaguing me today. Sciatica is back. Been hitting the teeter table, doing the nerve glide stretches, and it just hangs around.
Woke at 1:30a for a potty break. Went and took a couple of ibuprofen as well. Got out of bed at 2:30 after not sleeping for an hour. Going to need a nap later.
It's not super bad, but it's in the extremely annoying phase. Hopefully, I'll get it knocked down soon.

66° and clear. Supposed to be a nice day. Have to head to work shortly, but I log into our network and start the machines running their updates, so I'm actually an hour ahead when I get to the office to do the physical reboot.
Had a fall at work on Thursday. I missed the last step on a new staircase I told my Supervisor along with the parks and facilities directors months ago, was a poorly designed staircase. I landed on my left hand which is swollen and bruising along with a bruise on my left thigh where I hit my wallet in my pocket. Had a ton of paperwork as my supervisor was a few steps behind my up the stairs. Broke my phone screen, but was planning on a new phone in a couple of weeks anyway. So I have to use the broken one for a couple of weeks. So far it works ok.

Good morning from the wetland called Wisconsin. It started raining just after 9am yesterday and hasn’t really stopped since and 90%+ chances of rain every hour till 8pm tonight when the chance drops to 58%. I’m just happy we got some. There had been reports on the evening news yesterday some of Wisconsin got severe storms but not in my area. I have not yet been to the rain gauge outside.
The government moves in slow motion when you don’t have a state senator in your hip pocket. After 18 months of jumping through hoops the SIL and daughter were given approval to use the cattle tunnel under the County Road in front of their house connecting pastures on the property that straddle this County Highway. The crew who finished the long driveway added gravel and asphalt to the tunnel path under the road on Wednesday and finished it Thursday. Makes for easier access for the family to the SIL’s vineyard and it extends the walking path and allows the horses to use the fields on the other side of the road.
Friday in Wisconsin traditionally is Fish Fry Friday. We went out to an enjoyable local place we hit up 2-3 times a year. I had fried chicken last night and Terry had shore fried Perch. It was excellent. I can’t get Fried Chicken at home and dislike the chain fried chicken but this place does a good one. So I ordered it
I’ll be baking bread this afternoon. I used to make bread prior to Covid 2-3 times a week after we moved here and once a week for years prior to retirement. I’m producing 36 bread bowl sized loaves for a charity thing tomorrow the daughter is hosting. Something for Down Syndrome so the granddaughter is going to “help” me and an old neighbor make the loaves. I’ll miss my ovens from 2 houses ago but I have made 2 loaves practicing this past week. I still got it and this is a good oven in the new kitchen.

Good morning. 70°F/65°F this morning under sunny skies and slightly drier air. I don't think that at 70°F at 0800 we will be setting any low temperature records for today. The record is 73°F for 01AUG, but I think we will be topping that by at least 5-8 degrees.
Scattered showers are also possible as the low moves south coming from the west side of the low. The cooler temps are certainly welcome. I haven't had the A/C on in several days now and it feels wonderful around here for a change.
Nothing happening here today. I never made those brats on Wednesday, so maybe I'll throw 'em on the grill today.

Good Morning All. Clear and 80° to start our day here. Cool front is supposed to arrive shortly and our high today and tomorrow will only be in the mid to upper-90's. Yesterday it was 104°. Better yet, the overnight lows will be in the upper-60's until it warms up again on Monday. Still no rain though, but that is normal.
Wife made it safely home with the granddog yesterday. Mollie then slept for over 8 hours as riding in the car is tiring for her...having to sit up and watch all of the outside activity! I grilled burgers per wife's request.
Not sure of today's plans yet, but I am sure that there will be a honey-do list since it's been over a week! I'd like to fire up the grill again tonight. There's no shortage of meats in the freezer.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued with my informal structure lighting project. Since I am now mixing incandescents and LED's on the same circuit, I had to re-familiarize myself with anodes and cathodes and resistor hookups. At least resistors can go either way! I split time over at the workbench getting a bit caught up on figure painting. Maybe it's just me, but the only bottle of Vallejo paint that I have doesn't go on very well with a brush. I rotated through four colors on about a dozen figures and ended up with 5 going into the completed pile. My original plan of running some trains didn't pan out, so I am getting antsy about that!

Lots of "late" musicians birthdays today, Jerry Garcia guitarist/singer of the Grateful Dead would have been 84 today; Boz Burrell, bassist for King Crimson and Bad Company was born in 1946. Tim Bachmann, rhythm guitarist/singer for Bachmann-Turner Overdrive would have been 75, and Tommy Bolin, guitarist for (post Joe Walsh) James Gang, Zephyr and Deep Purple would have been 75 today.
Everyone have a great Saturday.

A mostly cloudy morning, and it looks like it will stay that way most of the day Currently its 67F and the high will only reach 70F. Scattered
rain later this afternoon.
Yesterday we got a much needed rain. It wasn't a heavy rain but a nice steady off and on all day soaking rain. With the 3 rounds of showers
i had 1.7" in the gauge this morning. Another .4" predicted for later on today into tonight. The grass will start taking off again and need
mowing on a more frequent basis as the last 6 or so weeks when it was so dry.
Mot much on the agenda for today. It is Saturday so weekly grocery trip. Wife's car needs a fill up and ATM for some cash for the week. My
car is good for another week since it hasn't gone much of anywhere this week

@Kusojiji - I’ve seen hot dogs being made… as in cooked. Whatever happens in the factory is not something I want to know about. Armour chicken hotdogs taste good; I’m not asking any questions. "There are things you should not know"

Willie, not 100% sure. Terry purchased the property in 11/ 2015 when I was in the rehab home from my 1st stroke in 9/2015 from the Bankruptcy Courts. So 11 years and probably 5 before that when the previous owner was jailed for fraud of some type.
One of the things the County insisted on was an engineering company review of the cattle tunnnel before allowing it to be used again. We did that around 2016 or 17. We leased the west side of the road to the daughter and hubby for the Vineyard in 2020. He started asking the County to approve access in 2023. When the attorney was hired to push the County off their collective butts in 2/2025 things started moving and finally in April they wanted a new Engineering study by a different firm. Got that and approved.
It’s a nice tunnel. Concrete lined, it’s 10’ high now that the path is paved and 16’ wide. A pick up truck will fit. Back when Terry purchased the property we should have just cleaned it out and used it. The DOT did not have it anywhere in its records. But we follow the rules even if sometimes it bites us…
Time and $$$ waster for sure but in the end it will have been worth it.

Morning All! 68 in the Brew City today going to a spring-ish 71. Rain all day is forecasted, and we do need it so I won't complain. Got the shopping done yesterday, and a few other things. Friday is now errand day to dodge the weekend crowds. I'll likely work more in the basement today. Gott keep whittling at the junk pile and separate the wheat from the chaff! One of my Rapido RS-11's died, most likely the motor, as that was a problem for those. Rapido didn't respond to my e-mail so I'll head over to E-Bay and see if I can find one looking for a home to scrap out for parts.

Been relegated to the RIP track. Woke up Thursday morning with a high fever. Wife took me to the Dr, enroute the decision was made to straight to the ER.. Long story short, I’ve suffered a bout of cellulitis. Doc have me hooked up to serious IV antibiotics and the prognosis is good . I just have to stay here a few more days.
Today was the 1st I could hold my phone steady to type.
