Good afternoon. Happy Easter to all. Woke up to snow and 17 degrees this morning but now the sun is out and the temps are climbing past the mid 40's. Got about 4 inches but it is melting off. Should be back into the 60's again in a few days.

Terry - Sometimes I think that if you didn't have bad luck, you wouldn't have any at all.

Joe
- Like that photo of the GG-1. Sweet.

Alan - A consolidation in kit form ??? Nice job on the brass cars.

Garry - The grade crossing came out nice. Like it.

Paul - It sounds like either your daughter wasn't paying attention or she has a lead foot. At least there was no injusy or damage. Good luck. When I took my son for his license I happened to know the examiner and she was very pleased to see him taking his test on a standard shift car. That's all we had at the time.

Ray
- Good MRL photos. Look familiar.

Justin - The hoppers look good, but could use a bit of weathering.

Guy
- Now I know why I didn't find any Easter eggs.

Willie - The rehab job really came out good. A nice addition to your empire.

Greg - Happily, we are over the taxes. Had out refund (enough for a burger and a milk shake) back the beginning of February. I have to laugh at the way some people bid up the old Athearn BB freight cars. Baffles me.

We aren't going to have out train show at the club in Livingston this year. We usually have it on the last weekend in April just before the museum in the main depot opens up. I have seen blue box cars with Kadees go as low a $4 each, but usually around $6 to $8. Maybe I should buy a bunc up and sell them on ebay. We could possibly have the train show/swap meet at the end of the summer right after the museum shuts down for the summer.

I did get down into the train room for a while. Ran the Northern Pacific F units around for a while with the track cleaning car and then did a bit of switching using the little switcher to spot freight cars on the passing siding which were later picker up with the train being pulled by the NP nits and then used the little Prairie to pick up a few cars in Gallatin Gateway which were spotted in the yard.

My daughter and the grand kids just arrived to celebrate my birthday last week. Gotta go.

Later

Murphy's here!
The Spousal Unit mangled her MACBook Air charging cord with the vacuum cleaner and I said maybe I can fix it? New one being $79.99 at Best Buy.
I did not think I could do it as I had no idea that it was only two wires (I thought it would be a half dozen), but I managed to drop my Weller 8200-N soldering gun on the garage floor breaking the bakelite shell in three places before starting.
OK, taped the shell together enough to solder the one-foot shorter cord back together ... using some of that soldering paste made the work easy - and I was surprised when it actually worked.
Now I have to decide if I should eBay buy another Weller, or just work with the "taped" version?

In honor of the holiday:

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best

And always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the light side of life

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing

And always look on the bright side of life
Come on!
Always look on the right side of life

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin
Give the audience a grin
Enjoy it, it's your last chance anyhow

So, always look on the bright side of death
A-just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you

And always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the right side of life

C'mon Brian, cheer up!

Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life

Worse things happen at sea, you know
Always look on the bright side of life

I mean, what have you got to lose
You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing
What have you lost? Nothing!

Always look on the right side of life...

Nothing will come from nothing, you know what they say?
Cheer up you old bugger, c'mon give us a grin!
There you are, see, it's the end of the film
Incidentally, this record is available in the foyer
Some of us have to got live as well, you know

Who do you think pays for all this rubbish
They're not gonna make their money back, you know
I told them, I said to them, Bernie, I said they'll never make their money back

Sherrel, what year model is her MacBook Air? I may have a charger, or know where to get a replacement, cheap.

OOOOH! Sestain meter, quite original Beady!

The Easter Bunny is self-isolating in my backyard beside the compost pile, which is doubling as his food supply, and is refusing to make his world-wide adventure. I suspect it is not only the virus that troubles him so; he seems quite cranky that the weather is staying so cold. I mean, who wants to be running around when it insists on hovering at -10C on the thermometer.
And just imagine having to pass all those super frozen Easter eggs! Difficult enough at the best of times.

TERRY - Oh, heck!
I should have fired off a note to you first! I ordered one from the Bay - should be here Tuesday - for $26.00 shipping included. Anyway, we will keep my "patch" for a spare.
Hers is the "B" model - the one with the straight plugin vs the elbow?
$17, free shipping.

Hiya gang.
Or as my one son says every Easter, "Happy zombie Jesus day!"
Never did make it to the garage today to paint. Couldn't run the compressor. Wife had some sort of muscular issue with her neck last night so she couldn't sleep, which meant neither did me or the cat did either. That later turned into a migraine for her mid morning so I sat quietly at my workbench not daring to make a sound, playing solitaire, sometimes napping, or taking the dog for walks. Finally around 6 she emerged from the bedroom all better and she's zipping around here like normal. I did manage to get 1 more shell masked off today, so there is one more for the pile for tomorrow!

Garry. I like the grade crossing! For 3 tracks, white kind of protection are you gonna use? Just crossbucks, lights, gates??

Alan, your passenger cars look great!

James, jerome's collection has a lot of smaller stuff, but I seriously doubt anything that small. 2 1/2 ton, I would bet it would be for a narrow gauge mining type usage.

L8ter gang, gotta go find Mr. Sandman
