KenL Remember I volunteered as a engineer !! If need be, with advance notice, I can be of service for clean up/beautification duty.
. . .
No worries Karl I'm still down for it. It's just that this won't be an informal group of local friends, but rather, people from out-of-state who've read the broadly publicized promo literature and, presumably, have higher expectations.

. . .
I also have to get in contact with Keith. SWMBO is making noise about redoing the kitchen. He used to do that as a side business, I could use his council on this project.
Yep, kitchen makeovers made an extremely profitable side business for him, I'm sure he can provide a great "insider" perspective on how the contractors do their markups.

3 things ,
1. they don't know whats in it and are afraid of the side effects.
2.They do know whats in it and don't want to take it because its counter intuitive , In order to prevent you from getting the virus , they give you the virus. That makes some people nervous.
3. They think if they wait long enough the disease will pass and they won't need to take it.

And these people are called " victims ". Many of these same people get a yearly flu shot, but don't know what's in it. They drink from municipal water supplies, but don't know what was added to it, they also eat food from McDonalds and don't know or sometimes care what is in it.

Yes, they are victims. victims of their own ignorance.

The vaccine is plentiful, there is no valid excuse to not get it.

Evening all,

At work as the internet service is acting goofy. Both buildings, so I'm waiting on the ISP to call me back. I'm using data on my phone as everything is basically down to the outside world. Kind of like Christmas getting paid to watch lights change from red to green and back to red.
Sorry you have to be stuck at the workplace Patrick! I wonder if somebody crashed into a nearby utility pole, that's what rendered my home internet useless for half a day.

* * *
Well I'm back, I got 3 boxloads of clutter either into the attic or the trash bin - enough for one afternoon. If I can clear out at least one boxload of stuff each day, then after another week or two I could have the space open enough to begin focusing on the trains. I also discovered an economical way to skirt the fascia: by using landscape cloth instead of curtain fabric. That costs only half as much as what I originally thought I'd have to spend. Being able to hide the stuff that's under the layout will go a long way toward making the space look less like a warehouse.

Hello again,

It seems the internet is getting fixed...Apparently they have a router acting up. They are sending a tech to replace it at this hour. It is not in one of my buildings, but the AT&T co-lo site. They've still aske d me to hang incase more equipment is needed. Nothing like an overnighter. This phone internet is going to kill me.

Good Morning!
I'm looking out the window where I can see the sun is rising, the sky is blue, and I can see the outdoor thermometer that says it's all of 24°F.
I believe the thermostat is fairly accurate, because the sun's warming rays haven't hit it yet, causing it to give a false reading. It's probably still a bit too cold to put out the tomatoes. - That will be changing soon, unless Greta was correct in her crusading business.

I went for a Covid test yesterday, because the wife's work place has 3 cases of positive results on site, though those are not from the building she works in. To my surprise, they refused me a test, noting that I don't qualify for a test because I don't work on that site. - As I walked out of the building, I took a good look around to see if that fellow with the big ears from the 'Mad' magazine was in the crowd someplace.

Today, I have to go get my first shot; hope they don't kick me out because I don't qualify. Sometimes I think the guy with the big ears follows me around.

Yesterday, I prime painted a couple of projects I'm working on. Now entering my favorite part of the modeling hobby; the paint. Here's a photo:

Thanks, as always, for the likes on my posts.
Have a good one!

Good Morning All. Clear and 67° on the plains of North Central Texas. Going up to 89° later today after reaching only 79° yesterday. Cold front blows in tomorrow before dawn and it will only get to 69° before getting back into the 80's Thursday or Friday. These warm temperatures will cause my spinach and lettuce plants to bolt and go to seed this week, thus rendering them useless. It may do the same for the various parsley plants on the porch, but I picked and froze plenty of those yesterday. I also cut up and froze three broccoli heads into six meal-size cubes. I have a lot more of it to do this week.
it appears that I will be able to mow some of the yard today, dilemma because when it is cool early in the morning, there is a heavy dew out there right now. Once that dries, it's warmer! But at least there will be a light 10 mph breeze around noon.

Hey there Flo. Let me try some of that scrapple that Karl likes to brag about, along with a pair of over easy eggs.

Thanks everyone for the likes and comments from yesterday's progress post; Patrick, Sherrel, Gary, Ken, Justin, Chet, Karl, Phil, Garry, George, Hughie, Guy, Rick, Jerry.

Well, with Mass, vegetable processing and other household chores, I didn't get a lot of time in the train shed yesterday, typical Sunday. I spent time making trees, a task that I am not good at.
Here's 18 of the 24 that I made.

Sorry Guy, that's the only picture today. :(

Chet - Looks like we had a mix of club and home layout pictures yesterday. All great. Thanks.
Ken - Don't worry. My train shed is far from being magazine presentable, but I enjoy it. Good luck on the health issues going forward.
Sherrel - You're up early today!

Everybody have a great morning. Stay safe.

Greetings fellow RR's! We are at 57 and heading towards 81 today with partly cloudy - only reached 67 yesterday!
These up and down temperatures are driving me nuts (don't have far to go). I wake up and have to pull on a sweater - then by noontime I have to change into something cooler.

YEAH, WILLIE - I woke up at right around 2 am this morning - lay there awhile - had a cup of coffee - read the email - looked at the website - went back and lay down again - couldn't go back to sleep - now it will be a torture day!

The Spousal Unit and I went to the "going away" party for a couple who are moving yesterday. The wife was the hit of the gathering as most everyone had not seen her since she has now dropped MORE than 50% of her weight. Other than one sister in law - we are the oldest couple there and I must toot my horn a little - she was the best looking one there!

GUY - I had not ever heard of a Pine Marten before! I asked my Okey BIL if he had ever seen a Pine Marten and he said WHAT?
He was as surprised as I was when he googled it on his phone. I like your little boat - can't wait to see it finished. Good luck with the injections.

I guess (hope) I will survive the day - The Spousal Unit bought a few things from the departing friends yesterday - so Today I get the pleasure of moving them including some bedroom furniture and a garage refrigerator to replace ours which is on it's way out.

I feel a later nap coming on!

Good morning to the world wide modelers we have here in the diner. seems I got a little bit too much sun at American Insurance Park yesterday. My entire face, forehead and neck are quite red. Thankfully I wasn’t wearing my glasses or sun glasses. Tailgating in the parking lot took its toll, we were in the shade inside the park. The grandson is here and asked me if I had a good time yesterday, told him of course I was with you and your sister. He’s still beaming.

ken, those folks coming for the tour are not coming to see the environment but to see the layout. Keep the floor clean and clear and the skirting is a nice idea. I love mine. If they have issues it is their fault not yours. This is for your enjoyment, don’t fret over it

Willie and Mkeinhubcity, being at a MLB for the first time in almost 2 years was fun but different. Every other space in the parking lot was nice. Sitting in pods, must have taken a computer programer a bit of time but well done. Sitting at the seat I saw few wearing the mask, BUT when they moved away from the seat and their pods, everyone wore the mask. A no fear environment. I would do it again.

Pricing as usual has climbed, $9.50 for a can of beer, $5.50 for water and $30.00 for parking. Since I didn’t pay for my ticket, no idea what it cost but I paid for 3 cars, 12 beers and lots of water but it was about the friends and family and we had a good time.

Willie, the trees look good

guy, I have lots of things I like about the hobby, painting has become a very enjoyable experience. My biggest bug a boo is the DCC stuff

To all the other diners, thanks for the stories and pictures

After the playtime in the pool for the kids and my exercise time the 7 year old wants to run some trains.

Good Morning All. Another month, time sure is passing much more rapidly than I remember as a youth!:( It's cloudy here and 61°, but at least it's not raining! It is in the forecast for this afternoon until daybreak tomorrow. Then a week of sunshine and every day into the lower 80's except for Tuesday. A "Blue Norther" is supposed to pass by dropping the overnight low to 51°. My grounds haven't come close to drying out yet and mowing/weed-eating is getting far behind. Here is one of my fellow residents staying away from the garden.

Brush pile to the right is also waiting for dryer conditions for shredding to continue.
So the broccoli harvest began yesterday.
View attachment 127599
The targets were the left one and the center one. Right one (and others) need a few more days.
View attachment 127601
Both of these are about 8" across. Needless to say, we had some broccoli for supper last night with my special Chicken Parmesan recipe. There will be a few more ready in the next 2-3 days and these will all be cut, blanched and frozen by midweek. Meanwhile the plants will keep producing smaller heads at each leaf axil.
I had a further conversation with the HP tech that I spoke with Wednesday. He had done some research and he feels that Microsoft was doing an update to Win10 when my power briefly went off, which wiped out my operating system. I don't recall finding anywhere in the Win10 system where I can delay updates until I am ready, but I forgot to ask him while I was on the line.

Hello Flo, how about getting me a BLT with extra bacon this morning. I'll take a pineapple juice instead of OJ this morning.

Thanks for the likes y'all gave yesterday for the various pictures and prose; Karl, Sherrel, Guy, Chad, Rick, Garry, Patrick, Justin, Tom O, George, Gary, Justin, Hughie, James.

I didn't spend much time in the train shed yesterday as I am still fooling with the new setup on the computer. I did however put some time into two projects, albeit simple stuff.
Over in Rycon Township, I added some signs to the motorcycle repair shop, thus giving it a proper name, Westbrook Bros.

I also painted and installed a fence out back between the building and the ditch along the railroad, where there is a rather close clearance.
View attachment 127605
The fence came from a box of miscellaneous parts that I have collected.
Over at Tommy's house in Vernon, I continued to add ground cover and began installing the front sidewalk.

Just a few small spots left at the end of the drive and next to the gate out front. Both will require custom trimming of fencing parts. The El Camino in primer is just a stand-in for now. It will be replaced by most likely a fully painted pick up truck.

Tom O - Nice to read about others making good retirement decisions like you and George's recent postings. Seems like many other Coffee Shop patrons have also made good retirement plans and decisions over the years as well. My best buddy worked until 71, because at around 58, he realized that his SS wasn't going to pay a whole lot since he worked many years "off the books" and didn't contribute. He was able to finally retire last year when his wife's company was bought in a hostile takeover and her company stock in her retirement plan paid off handsomely.
Good that your wife is good at picking stocks. I feel that I could also do that, but I have done well with mutual funds and picking the right ones at the right time so I leave it at that. I don't really have the time to be fooling with the individual stocks anyway. My most profitable mutual fund, which is no more, was my "sin" fund that invested in tobacco, alcohol, casinos and certain movie makers!
Guy - Sorry to read that your country is so far behind on the vaccine. While I am seeing a lot of negative press about the AstraZeneca vaccine, Jaz got it over across the pond a few months ago and reported no abnormal side effects, yet! It seems that Gary had a different experience though.
The boat is coming along very nicely.
Sherrel -

Great! More Kalifornians moving to Texas with their lifestyles! :(

Everybody have a great weekend. Stay dry if you're from Texas. I'm headed out to pick more broccoli and spinach before the rain starts here.
I love the biker, does anyone here do a hells angel skit? I was chatting to Willie and said I would pop up some European stock

Nice pc...and you got a red neck.....hmm I have heard about you American red necks lol,the media makes you look bad but the back bone of the country poo pooed by politicians if I understand it...sorry not my politics you understand...do I get an out of jail card :D grins

Good morning. Not much going on here. After a day in the 80's we had some rain, which is always welcome, come through and now the high is only expected to be in the 60's today.

Willie - Good photos as usual. The problem with people moving out of California is that they tend to bring their politics with them. Bozeman used to be a very conservative city but over the years in influx of Californians got bad. The entire city commission is made up entirely of Californians. One of the reasons I want out of here. Thankfully the rest of the state is still red with the exception of Missoula.

Justin - Like the geep.

Terry - Sounds like you got the tablet situation taken care of. Hope your wife is doing well.

Have a few small things to do before watching the NASCAR race this afternoon.

Here are a few more photos.

Nowadays with photographic backgrounds your background supposedly lacks but I took a good look and was suitably impressed...please don’t update it!
