I have mine set for auto flush.

After dinner with the folks last night, I had to walk from the restaurant to the hotel since the car was full. First time in about 20 years that I've walked through the area called the "honch". Bars, restaurants, memorabilia type places. Everything has changed and I got confused at one point.

When I passed the bank area, I saw an exchange rate display at it was showing 162 yen/dollar. Wow! That's awesome for me since I get paid in USD. I think that's the highest since the 80's when it was 260 in '85. It had lowered to 130 by '89.
Auto flush is nice and I forget the otehr toilets don't have it. When I don't hear the flush I remember I have to push the button myself. 1st world problems.

162 yen is super nice. I wish I had some cash to load some on my various virtual Suica, ICOCA, and Pasmo cards right now for our next trip... And I wish I had cash to expand the locomotive and EMU and Shinkansen fleet.

Well howdy there internet peeps, and those earning their de-merit badges with me.

First: went out to wood fired pizza place:

got a couple of slices left over for lunch tomorrow.

Finished up two of the three tables I wanted to build from the old gaming table.

Here's the one I did almost right:

It's role is to make my writing desk into more of an L for project binders/books and the printers:

You'll note the hidey spot well cushioned on the lower level for his Lordship, the FuzzButt.

those are the cushions from "his" chair I brought in from the patio set. Four chairs was too many for our patio, so one came inside... and became his Lordship's throne when I'm working.

Yes, he approves of the new spot...

The other table goes on the other side of my writing desk, where the treadmill used to be. That's for me to do my nerve glide stretches to help with the sciatica issues. I need something sturdy to sit on, and be able to swing my legs under and then straight out, then back, and forth, like pumping on a playground swing. BuI have to hunch my shoulders forward, then arch my back and neck in conjunction with the leg pumping.

This is also the table I screwed up the cuts on. The front&back support boards should have been 35 5/8th inch.... that became 30 5/8th when I got to the garage and drew the line with the speed square. Those two 5s merged.

So I went with it, and didn't worry about the 2.5 inch overhang on each side.

That's enough work for one day. time to hit the recliner and enjoy a whiskey cocktail.

Went to a place called Hungry Tiger last night, which my boss told me he really liked going to. My uncle wanted steak, so we decided to go there. Well, got the ticket punched and never going back. 4700 yen for a 150 gram (5 oz) filet, a baby potato, some green beans, a little bit of mixed veggies and rice. The filet was tough and not cooked to order. Wife asked for medium, but got medium rare, which is what I ordered and hers looked like mine. If not for the awesome yen rate, it definitely would have been a bigger bummer.

Murphy has only been here an hour, and he's already taken over the house, and he will not move off my bed. He likes my bed better than the bed I made him. I'm not sure what's going to happen at 11pm when I to try sleep. Playing ball, tires him out and he will not give up his spot. Swal

(in my best Roy Scheider voice) You're gonna need a bigger bed!

If you have an Ikunari Steak in your area, they're always good.

We went to some steak & salad buffet place (in Japan), decorated in the best faux US cowboy western style, last summer. It was pretty good. Forget what it was called but I think it was a chain. Those places are hit and miss.
