Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Good mid-morning. It's a nice, cool, sunny day. Walked to the post office and bought two letter packs that the US Embassy's website told me to get so that I can renew my passport. I copied the instructions in Japanese, printed it out and showed it to the post office clerk so no confusion this time. Also paid for my RG Rokko order, so should be seeing that soon.

Been sleeping late and getting up late, around 0800, lately. Changed from benadryl back to melatonin to help with that.

Going to need to change out my keyboard as this one is double to triple tapping my keystrokes so I have to make a gaggle of corrections (hows that? haha). This keyboard is neat in that it does 2.4ghz as well as blutooth. I control both my laptop and pc with it. My trackball is dual channel as well.
I hate that. You MIGHT be able to rescue the situation through settings and keyboard configuration settings. I know you can set mice to your preferences anyway. Possible your keyboard settings just got
reset somehow to a sensitivity of three. Of course too, if it's gone to triple time with both PC's at the same time, then it IS likely the keyboard at fault.

"Somehow." I blame the CCP. But don't get me started.

Spent a couple hours trying to install Linux Ubuntu onto an older laptop today without success. Will attack it again tomorrow. G'niece Nataley is spending the night tonight after working and after school today. She's a really sweet young lady who is a very hard worker. During Spring Break week she worked 47 hours! And on the subject of pie, my Missus fed me a slice of leftover Banana Pie, it was really good.

Dunno about Ubuntu, but I just installed Linux Mint onto a 2.0 speed USB stick, and was pleasantly surprised to find the boot time was not at all unreasonable. Faster than my Windows Ten by an order of five or six as Ten goes these days (but Windows is schizo too--one time quite reasonable, the next wanting to spend half an hour disc-scanning or something). Ten is not terribly dependable, but necessary still for my sim-racing.

My living room computer that I'm on now is a Dell G3 that has the same problem from time to time. Adjustments haven't fixed it. It didn't do this until I replaced the monitor, lid, and hinges when the hinges caused the entire lid to fail. Works great now, but I still get the double tap letters every now and then.

This was the first (and last) Dell I've bought. All of my other laptops are IBM or Lenovo and never a problem with them.

I like the logo, although, if you want to accurately depict a RS...the long hood should really be a bit lower in height, and actually equal to the height of the short hood. You might also consider running the unit long hood forward, as was typical of Alcos of that era.

That said, I never cared for it, the long hood forward running the way the Norfolk & Southern also did it.
I can only get AI do do so much. Asking it to turn the engine 180 resulted in the exact same image. I can live with it, after all you recognized it as a RS.

Yeah I was using Gemini to create some "splash screens" with technical outlines of various locomotives. They didn't have to be perfect but no obvious issues like missing or extra windows, grates in the wrong places, etc. It did some good ones but I had one were I kept asking it to move some grates and fix a few issues and it would either give me back the same image after dutifully telling me it had fixed it, or it would mess up the pantographs or something even if it fixed the original problem. I went through it two days straight and then gave up.

Bit it was 100000% better than ChatGPT doing the same thing. (Both with basic paid accounts). ChatGPT has done some god abstract artwork for my AI music creations but its ability to do the icon and splash screen locomotive images I wanted was terrible.

It was random happenings, so irritating. But, you've given me an idea of perhaps it could be interference. Will monitor with the new keyboard and see. I bought 3 of these things as they tend to be discontinued after a while.

My PC is made of an Asus motherboard and my leftover parts. It has an external antenna that I think handles the BT as well as wifi as I have to turn the wifi on for the BT to work. I don't use wifi as the PC is hardwired. I just moved the antenna.

Marco - Second time that I have seen them in one of your backyard pictures; but what is that line of stacked containers all about???

the propertie next to us get a massive overhaul (they are a year behind haha). those are the i guess office and workers containers. iam not really shure, but they added around 8 of them. we now have a huge wall of steel against our land :D could be worse.

i think they will be there for around a year or so.

aaand with that Good morning (well over here almost lunch time)

- airport is running and busy
- sun is out around 16 celcius
- maybe i will find some time tonight to do another "April Layout Update Video" with RUNNING TRAINS!
- on the other hand, i have new products for the shop that wait to get implemented..
- but i think i will "finish" the liftout section.

wish you all a great day!
cheers
Marco
