Just wanted to share something I found this morning. Looking through some old photo albums I found my very first model railroad.
Some of the pictures you will notice buildings that are on my current switching layout. These pictures were taken probably from 1981-1994. Back then I was just learning about scenery, wiring, painting, etc. I was in my teens to twenties when I was building this l layout. DC power with a PFM sound system II. I added a yard section but it was never sceniced. Great times with this layout and it kept me out of trouble.
The backdrop for this layout was painted by my cousin and if anyone lives on the front range of Colorado or have been north of Denver in the Longmont area, you will know what mountain that is. If you do, comment.
Oh I have a question, if you look at the picture with the yard, there is a hydrocal building that I built from a kit and it is of the Lyons Depot in Lyons, Colorado. I don't have that structure anymore and wish I did. Do any of you know who produced this structure kit and where I might be able to get another kit or completed structure? Lyons was my hometown where I grew up and the depot at that time was the town library. Just wondering if any of you have seen this kit in the past and where I could get another one. Would like to model the town of Lyons back in the 1800's and need to find information on this building.
Thank you all for sharing great ideas and layouts here. Gives me inspiration to continue modeling in whatever I do next.
