Roads


Wow that's a pretty broad question, comes with a lot of possible answers.
If you mean what material makes the best roads try searching the threads for that topic.
It also depends what type of road you want to make.
As for the most realistic railroad, that would be the Burlington Northern. All others are pretty much fictitious. :D
 
I use gray or black dense foam rubber sheets from Michaels Crafts. Kids use the sheets to make clings or flexible puzzles. Cheap, and you can rough it up with fine grade sandpaper and / or paint it.
 
Although I haven't tried on my O-Scale yet, I think asphalt shingles would be ideal, just paint them the color you want! Also, I've heard that painting Masonite flat black and cutting it into the shape of the road works, but that might be overkill for N scale.
