I need to have various sized rocks in my river. I want the look of water-worn-smooth rock, so I can't use ballast. Other than actually going out & collecting pebbles, anyone have an idea?
How much do you need? We use a pea gravel at work that is small pea size, well rounded stones in various colors/sizes that I used on our HO layout. I have access to it as we get it in 40lb. bags... It works great and I could send you a small amount if interested. You might be able to see some in my gallery on the streams, rivers, and ponds on our club. You may find some at any landscaping store like Lowe's etc in the garden center.
Hi: Good advice from Bob. I picked up a bunch of pebbles from the parking lot at work. Here's some I used in my streams.
Check the Aquarium section at the local pet store, they have all kinds of smooth rocks and pebbles.
Funny how I was thinking about spending money on something I could instead just pick up in my driveway.
Thanks for the ideas.
I buy all mine at the local Dollar Tree. Get a bag big enough to make a dozen stream beds & mountain pebbles & falling rock.
