Ok, so I am looking for any resin (or just highly detailed) tank car kits. I know they have been offered before, but by who? Also, can someone maybe post some pics and info of the different types of newly offered tank cars? I am trying to build a unit tank train and looking for ideas...Any tank train experts out there have any ideas on which way to go with this? I model the BNSF and while I would like to do Ethanol tanks, theres no way to affordably do it with the steep $39.99 a piece Ethanol cars...Sorry there are alot of questions here, but could someone get me on the right track? (no pun intended)

Funaro & Camerlengo offers a couple 8K tank cars. Westerfield doesn't have any and Sunshine has quite a few listed. Check Sunshines website for current availability at;

Funaro's website doesn't seem to work for me right now, but one of their distributors is located at;

If you're looking for models of what was called "Tank Trains" from the 80's and 90's MDC used to have them. Whether or not Athearn is going to bring these back out is another story. You may be able to find them on E-bay.

Great page Josh! Thanks for that! Does anyone have any pics of Walthers 54' tank cars that they have built? I would like to see how they look unmodified... If there is any input on their quality I'd like to know that too!

no pics but the Walthers tank cars I've seen look pretty good. They should be a great starting point, especially compared to the older Athearns out there. Almost any tankcar will need a few mods to be 100% accurate per a specific prototype, these are highly customized and modified by the manufacturers.

You should find good pics on the Walthers website.
