I bought the remake TMCC-equiped version of Lionel's missile-firing diesel locomotive, and was pretty upset that for $300 I got an engine that was all green, with only white 'U.S. ARMY 99' markings. So, I decided to detail it myself. Still have some work to do, but wanted to get some imput. What do you think? Remember, this was all green, with no other paint then the letters. Even the missiles were completly white! I added the panels covering the wheels, radio-active markings, roof vents, missile fins, and caution markings. Comments?

Wow, it's the cold war all over again!

Looks fine although now you need some armored support cars to go with it.
Yep, I like it!
The yellow and black look great.
I would of painted "no smoking"
Rocket fuel and smoking don't mix. LOL
Great job!!
As much as I like the Radioactive trefoil symbols, I think they are inaccurate for the type of missile (The HAWK surface to air AA missile) which carried a conventional warhead.

There's no doubt in my mind however that it looks absolutely AWESOME though!

Thanks for the imput! And I have a few cars that do go with the engine. Making a 'Halo' themed train. Oh, and I now the radio-active symbols don't match the missiles, but they were molded into the plastic, so I decided that since they were there, might as well make them stand out. I will post pics of the completed train in the 'projects' area...
Miles, it's not the missiles that are radioactive, it's an atomic powered engine.

Remember how everything, including cars and trains, were going to be atomic powered by 1970? Popular Science sure had that one wrong.
