wish to remotor my M4 2-8-8-4 with a NWSL can motor for converting to DCC and am wondering which might be best.
Have the thought that something in the size range of 20x40 would give plenty of torque along with a realistic slow top speed.

All opinions welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Not knowing what the size of the model firebox is, I know that the prototypes had one of, if not the largest fireboxes ever, I would put the highest torgue, lowest RPM motor,(I wouldn't worry about size per say, if a 18x30 has higher torgue, I'd use that), in that I could get. This would lower the the top speed to a more realistic level.

Couple the mechanism with the weight properly balanced over the two sets of drivers and you'll get a monster that could pull the studs out of the walls very easily!
