I have a few questions about using various decoders for different functions.

1. I've noticed that NCE doesn't make function only decoders. Can they be used as function only decoders if a resistor was wired across the motor leads?

2. If I want to use 2 functions to create flashing ditch lights, then do I have to have a seperate function to turn them on and off with one function key and independant of the headlight? (for example, mapped to F3 for on/off, F2 to make them flash)

That's 'cuz they know you. I ALWAYS call Tony's on that ancient thing called a telephone, and I ALWAYS get a human. Email is snail mail in most situations. Having the train, the decoder, and the soldering iron at the ready while actually talking on the phone to a tech at Tony's has saved my butt many a time. 15 minutes on the phone with the task in front of me saves mucho time. And they have never hung up on me. lol
