What do you guys do when you run out of space? I Just started my first layout not to long ago and want to add on already. problem is i don't have any more room after that. I know it will take a while. Have you guys torn down layouts and built other ones before with some of the same track and material? 4x8 want to add 2x6
i have torn down a layout many times and was able to use most of the stuff from them. Can't help you on the run out of space question, maybe break out a hammer and make sure it ain't load bearing if ya catch my drift.

add a switch an build on i know im noy a long time modeler but its still imput
Do you have space to go above or below the existing layout? Sometimes a lower level can add some interest. I once had a friend who ran a daytime scene on a top level and a night scene on the bottom level.
Not sure how helpful I was but its an idea.
