What color gold or yellow was used for the striping on the diesels, specifically the color used for the striping on the brunswick green units. I had asked around but nobody seems to know.

Also, will the chameleon paint stripper do any harm to green putty that is on a shell that needs to be stripped fully?

Steve, Polly S #270-404064, Pennsylvania Buff, is an exact match for Pennsy diesel stripes. As far as I can tell, it's the same color that was used on the Brunswick Green and Tuscan locomotives. Microscale #460-8739 decals are also a good match for the five stripe scheme. The #460-87677 set has the gold leaf stripes that were used up until 1954 and that would be correct for the era. I'd certainly use decal stripes rather than trying to paint them.

As long as the putty is fully dry and sandable, the paint stripper shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks Jim. They definitely didn't have that color at my LHS. as for the stripes, im not doing the cat whisker stripes. Thats just crazy. Im just going to go with the single gold/yellow stripe. I've thought about using decals but the decals i think are specific to a certain locomotive. Mines custom.
