Larry, it's...different, that's for sure. :) Aren't those six wheel passenger car trucks?

Yes Sir, some old pot metal(pewter) Tyco trucks that I bought at a train show many years ago. They all have steel or brass wheels.:D Still have a bunch. I bought all of them for 50 cents a pair.
That car is going to take a lot of R&D to finally make it work. I've still got to add another set of trucks. Haven't yet figured out the combination to keep it on the track. right now it's 17" long & then I've got to find something weird for the load.

Larry I used the old Athearn BB heavy duty flats when I built these ages ago....I trimmed the ends or just narrowed the whole car....add a bunch of weight and then try and figure out how you are going to get these monsters around on the layout....

Are you using the magnets for the Heljan container crane? If so whats the longest container you can use with it

The container crane has a clamp. You just sit the clamp on a container & turn the take up wheel & it grabs the container & lifts it. The string is not self aligning, so it won't lift anything straight up. have to straighten the string all the time. Waste of money, but for looks it's OK.

Say Larry,

It seems your going to have quite a problem using body mounted couplers on that baby!!??

Or does Kadee or other make a special adapter?? That's right, I just remembered, Sky Hook Connections have got your problem solved!!

I've already made a swivel tongue to mount the coupler on. Anyway, I've changed the truck assy.'s on the car to work a lot better. Couldn't get that
3rd set of trucks to work. Going to stay w/2 sets. Lowered the car quite a bit. Will probably have some more photo's later on in the week. Been looking for a good big load. Might have that figured out too. I tried it on my 2 main lines today & will only have to set back a few items.
More later.:D
