Is there anyplace that I can go that has pictures/artwork that can be printed out using my computer and put them together to make a backdrop? I know I could look under nature photos an so on but I thought maybe someones knows of a web site that has this idea in mind. City scenes, mountains, forrest etc. Thanks
The Walthers backdrops are pretty useable.
Or take your own and print them here: perfectposters.com. They're cheap and large.
I've got one thing to say about printing your own backdrops. Expensive.
It's cheaper to buy them than to print them. It takes a lot of ink to print a large backdrop. I know that from my own experience. On my printer the cartridges cost about $80.00 for the pair. It will take about a set of them to print a long backdrop.
There's a company in Model RR mag. called; Larc Products. They have a CD w/over 50 Background scenes & everything else. The CD is $21.95 plus $3.05 s&h.
Their web addy is; geocities.com/larcproducts

Yu can go to
http://www.cgtextures.com/ and find lots of backdrop material. However, it really doesn't pay to print your own. The cost of good quality semi-gloss paper and ink eat up any savings very rapidly. If you're looking for inexpensive backdrops, the Instant Horizons series at Walthers look good for the price although they are not photo realistic. I used them on my layout and they do the job at minimal expense.
