I model or should I say will model the transition period of the GTW (1953) so I get the best of both worlds, covered wagons and steam. This is what I have but I really don’t have any good photos.

O-18-b x 1 (0-6-0)
O-19-a x 2 (0-6-0)
P-5-e x 1 (0-8-0)
N-4-e x 1 (2-8-0)
S-3-a x 2 (2-8-2)
S-3-b x 1 (2-8-2)
J-3-a x 1 (4-6-2)
K-4-a x 1 (4-6-2)
U-1-c x 1 (4-8-2)
U-3-b x 3 (4-8-4)
GS-6-a x 1 (SC)
GS-10-a x 1 (NW-2)
GFA-15-a x 5 (F-3A)

Also buried deep in a box somewhere is some other steam that has not seen the light of day since the early 90's and I am not sure what is all there.

I have a list similar to that. Except it's about twice as long and they're all 'unbuilt' locos (as in, still in the box, need couplers/decoders, painting and weathering, decals if no #, etc..).

Once they get 'built', they move off of that list onto the 'built' list....

:D

Here's my fleet of locomotives. At one time I had over 75 in total, downsized the fleet to 40 in total (some FT's and a few Alco's remain instorage)
These 34 will represent my fleet of SP/SSW around mid 80's.
Best part is, I have no need for any new locomotive, but I will generally upgrade some engines and replace them with others.

Nice looking roster you got there!

Thanks, but can you believe with all that BNSF, still no C44-9Ws yet - that's like not having any SD40-2s. About as crazy as it gets!

I will be putting up a new industry on the layout in the near future - a law office, so they can pursue legal action against the guy who patched that DM&IR unit earlier in this thread :D If we are successful, we might then use that momentum and public image to go after 1:87 CN also. :D I tell you, the new lawyers that are coming to the layout are so upset about that DM&IR patch, they are going to take on that case pro bono. There are just some things in the 1:87 world that are not tolerable, and this is one of them.

I'll let you in on a little secret.... some of those locos are still in boxes :)

Ahh, another high hood enthusiast. A man after my own heart! :)

Not alone there, I have a grand total of TWO "complete" Dash 9's. That doesn't count the super weathered and primer ones that I'm going to seel once they get here, and the 3 Undec ones to build...

I'm gonna go update my roster right now...

You betcha! If I had to downsize to let's say only 10 engines, only SD9's and Geep 9's would remain, with a switcher thrown in for good measure. If I only could have one engine...

When all my projects are finished and I have built the oddball that's staring at me from a shelf, the Krauss Maffei ML 4000 (one will be a German version in SP colours with KM lettering and European style buffers and the other a full SP version), I'll built a high nose SD40T-2, with a 123" high nose.

Regards,

René

Ohhh, Krauss Maffei's!

Here's one of 'em. Stripped the paint off and shaved off some cast on details, fixed the plow and test fitted the airtanks. And it's like that for three years now.

Regards,

René

I wish I had my original locomotive from when I was three. It was a Varney (I think) F7 painted in the black & red Rock Island.

Here is but a sampling of my fleet. The rest were on the road earning their keep when this photo was taken!
Why only three digit locomotive numbers? I would have guessed the NYC would have so many locomotives that 4 digits would be required.

I find the treatment of the SD40t_2 Blasphemous!! I'm glade that it still flies the Rio Grande on her flanks.
I don't think so. I've always thought the D&RGW should have merged with the Santa Fe rather than the UP. Picture this locomotive on the hanging bridge that the Santa Fe built but the D&RGW got to run over for 100 years.
