Greetings to the Board!

I'm running a Proto 2000 E6A and E6B unit. The A unit is powered, the B is not. I've installed a Tsunami decoder, speaker and done the wiring, but it's still really tight to put the shell back on the frame. In fact it doesn't fit. In reviewing the frame, I don't really have any space to grind and make room.

The A unit currently has a 1.1 inch speaker at the rear end of the shell in a baffle. I'm thinking about putting the speaker into the B unit to solve my clearance problem. The B unit has a lot of open space. I've seen this with steam (into the tender) and I know I'd always have to run them together. With my vast expanse of space, should I make the speakers bigger or make more of them? Is there an advantage to adding more speakers? Could I go to 3 or 4? has anyone ever done this? Has anyone experimented with "pointed down" "pointed up" "pointed at an angle to each other" for the best sound?

I have read the Mike Polsgrove "DCC Projects & Applications" book and there is great info there, but there doesn't seem to be anything that I can apply to this question, but maybe I missed it.

I value being a member of this board and welcome the feedback.
