I am about to try this to get some logos off of a locomotive to decal for myself. (I've never done this before.) I was wondering once the ink comes off, can the Pine Sol or alcohol get into the plastic and soften or damage it or the underlying paint (if it is painted), or does it pretty much work on the ink? Also, once this is done, what do you clean the piece with to repaint / decal? Is there anything I need to watch out for? I believe the logo is printed on color molded plastic. Thanks for any pointers.
If you use a q-tip and 91% isopropyl alcohol you should be fine, best part is it'll gloss up the underlying paint too...
I know others have used Pine Sol, but when isopropyl alcohol is cheaper and cleaner (no residue), why?
Thanks
Thanks Guys. I have both the Pine Sol and 91% alcohol. I am taking that the alcohol is the way to go.
