Optical (InfraRed) Grade Crossing Flasher Circuit


Here is my new IR grade crossing and flasher circuit.

That one is a IR detector and grade crossing flasher circuit all in one. The IR detector can be modified to do just about any type of detection.
 
If you had a single mainline, how many sensors would you use? Would the IR sensors be the best way to go? I'm in a basement with non uniform lighting (brighter in some arears, dimmer in others).
 
Maybe a little more detail on performance.
Is it a quick sensor that turns the crossing signal on and off as the beam sees between rolling cars.
Is there a delay turn off so the train clears the crossing.
Does it generate the sound for crossing bells.
Do the crossing flashers fade on and off or do they instantly flick on and off.
Are these free?
Etc., etc, and more etc.
 
They have a sensitivity adj. to control lighting.
It has a 2 sec delay so it will not be affected by gaps etc.
Does not have sound.
No fade, but can be done if wanted.
No they are not free, lol. The detector with grade crossing combo will sell for $25. Quantity discounts available.
 
Can you also operate slow-motion stall-motor machines to actuate crossing gates with the module or similar ones?
