They stored huge bales of grass used in rug making in the Crex warehouses. That was a big business with mfgs in St. Paul, from about 1900 to 1930's, and harvest of wild crex grass popular in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

There is some big history associated with this business, I believe the original Crex mfg bldg advertising is still visible near rail sidings in St. Paul

That’s very cool Dave, I had to look that up!

So neat you found that! I did a lot of searches to get the pattern for the decals. I had custom decals made and have a couple leftover in case I want to make another shed. They had 2 large sheds in Wyoming ( one was 250' long) and a shed in Forest Lake MN as well as other sheds probably I am not aware of.

My Dad had one of these rugs, he donated it to the Historical Society.

Thank you, Dave

I made them a few years ago, I know I posted it here during the build... somewhere...back in 2017 I think when I made the depot, when I get a chance I will look.

Thanks, Dave

I got a little more done on the loading racks, still have to “tune up” the joints and thick paint.
Lots more details to add and scenery to do yet too.
Man I’ll tell ya, soldering those tiny little Chinese wires on the street lamps just about drove me crazy!!
