ok I promise I will stop

Lol careys sending one from the estate sale
&i know I need to stay away from MTH :)
OH! Carey the forum member not Carey the company.

I just got a Spectrum 2-10-2 in KCS paint from a liquidation from Train World. I've wanted one for a long time (really wanted Santa Fe but.... I saw the dog house and it won me over), so when I saw the price I couldn't resist. Plus I combined it with a BLI Hudson and a couple sound stock cars, got the extra "May Day" 10% off the whole lot, it was a good train day.

I have yet to be even tempted with an MTH. The name still leaves a bad taste in my mouth from the 1990s.

I understand, but I couldnt resist this one. My one and only MTH Locomotive. Had I waited I could have saved over $100!

That's one of the chances you take with FOMO. You buy it now, and pay more, or wait a while, and risk not getting one at all.

or wait a while, and risk not getting one at all.
That was what worried me.

This little switching railroad operates within minutes of my home. "I had to have it!" and I'm glad I bought it. At the same time as I bought this, I found the scale lumber cars at Lionel to replicate the train I see crossing Kane Street, Eastern Ave and Rolling Road on the way to the lumber yard. I'm not normally concerned with prototypical, but this chance was too good to pass up.

But as I have said before, doesn't matter if they make the best loco, equipment, whatever in every way, or even the rare and illusive loco X I've always wanted and no one else makes them. I refuse to buy from a company that has no business morals.

I was in a similar position here in the U .K.. A locomotive I liked was £130.00 on pre-order. As it was built by a relatively newcomer I was wary on the reliability. On release those who bought then the price was £150.00. Shall I buy, shall I not?
The price was reduced to £120.00. Purchase made.
Had I waited the price was further reduced to £95.00. The locomotive livery I wanted was not available at that price. Phew!!!
It is not always advantageous to wait for further reductions.

By the way, the locomotive is a 'little gem'.
