Guess it must be time to get the hip replaced . I'm in constant pain so it will be a relieve . but first I may have to have a blockage taken care of on an artery on the backside of my heart .Lots of stuff to be done. oh well what else is new . Just call be the bionic man. Well have to get a few things done so hope you all have nice day !!!!!Rex sorry I missed your anniversary , Happy anniversary to you and the wife and many more. As far sa Buddy goes , he is constanly in search of food. he will eat anything. Sunday I dropped a twenty dollar bill and he started to chew it up . He must have not wanted it because hi spit it out and I was able to tape it back up. Yesterday he got hold of my check book but I got it back before he could write any checks . That's about it for him. But you take one look at him and how can you stay mad at him ?:p:p

Good morning folks

It was 36 F on the way to work this morning. High today will be 51 F.

Temperature here this morning is considerably warmer than Hell as it froze over last night when the Phillies won the World Series. As a life long fan I no longer get over hyped until the deed is done. Visions of Mitch Williams in ’93 or watching the horrendous plays in the LCS games in the late 70’s, and hearing about the collapse of ’64 have lead to too many disappointments. As a friend at work said about us long time fans we hope for the best but prepare for the ultimate let-down. Last night, however, was so sweet watching that last pitch.

Not much else happening. We had Cub Scout den meetings last night and I handed out a bunch of popcorn orders. Today is the last day for popcorn as I turn in the unsold popcorn and paperwork tomorrow.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Tom Congratulations to your Phils from a lifetime Mets fan !!!! but I have to disagree about long suffering. I just think back to the early nineties and Scott Norwood's fieldgoal going wide right !!!!!!

Good Morning from Coarsegold, Ca.,
It' a comfortable 50* with partially cloudy, light clouds, sky with no sign of any rain which we need out here but haven't been getting any of. I think Ray and Paul have been hogging it all. :)

Paul: Hip surgery can sure releive a lot of the pain, my Mother had that done on both hips, total hip socet replacement at different times and found it made a world of a difference. You can probably help t resolve, and even possibly completely, your blockage by taking Nattokinase, the, 'NOW Brand', as it will disolve clots as they claim, Just be cautious as it is a bit of a blood thinner too so be lsure to let your doctor know you want to take this. The Japanese have used it for many years now. I've also been taking it and feel a lot better since I started and I was giving it to my bed ridden mother and after about a year had a doctor at the hospital where Mom was do a colestrol check on her and he said everything looked fine!

So I would look into that as it all natural, an enzyme that disolves all the junk in your veins and arteries and leaves no residue somhow. Quite remarkable!

Hope everyone has a good Day.

afternoon all

We got a bit of news today, after shedding close to 300 jobs by Christmas week at our place and 1000 in the Netherlands we are set to go into compulsory redundancies and short time. Why, to keep our American cousins in work, if they go then thats it for the rest of us in England, Netherlands, Hungary, Mexico and Australia. Mmmmmm bugger.

Afternoon everyone!

Went and had my blood draw this morning. Then I took my son and Granddaughter out to breakfast. I pigged out, eggs over easy, toast, home fries, bacon, and a pot of coffee. It's a tradition on blood draw day for me. At least now if I sneak a bit of Halloween Candy I can get away with it.;)

The land was white this morning when I headed out. About an inch of snow blanketing the ground. t always looks nice for the first few snowfalls, but then............ Around March I get real sick of of it. But I still like the changs of seasons and in fact probably like winter the best. Always feels so good to curl up near the wood stove and read.

I have gotten a groupd of materials ready fro some other MLK members to put in envelopes and mail out this morning and I am waiting for the first person to pop over and pick up her box. The I have to do some shopping (Candy and that kind of stuff). Then I have to check out my recording equipment and make sure everything is go for a gig this Sunday Afternoon at my church. Then............. I can work on the trains.:D

See you all later.

It rained 4" in one go today on one village here followed by serious hail, at dawn over a yard of hail had landed,,, a YARD of Hail !!!!

Well, Halloween is tomarrow! The neigborhood is starting to give me the creeps:eek::D I'm the group leader as usual! At least I'm a cool parent and still dress up! I'm Going as my usual, "Right Wing Vigilanty clinging to my bible and Gun(Echo MP5)":D I wanted my son to dress up like Obama or Biden so I could chase him around shooting him in the butt!LOL's Instead he's going as a Pimp? Well I guess I could still chase him and shoot him in the butt!:D Last year both of us went as Vigilantys! I'll post some pic's tomarrow when we get home should be a hoot!

Paul, word of warning! My MIL had her hip replaced and is in greater pain now than before! And the doctors tell her to help with the pain she needs the one that doesn't hurt replaced to balance her out!:rolleyes::confused: Also they told her to consider to have knee surgery down the road! One of my Uncles did the whole nine yards both hips and knees, ended up in a wheel chair any ways! Paul, go with a good pain management doctor, find a cool power chair and skip the surgery. I live in the land of retirees, never heard any thing good come from joint replacement!

That reminds me, I need to find something to protect my political signs tomorrow.

Would be a shame if something happen to one of the 10-11 of them.

Happy Halloween, Our game plan has changed. My son and crew are trick or treating with another big group. So I'm saved the long walk but, it leave's me with the candy handing out part...... I'm still dressing up though!:D I'm just a big kid at heart! My wife and I are working on a plan to Scare some kids;););) I want to See everyones Halloween Pic's later to night:) Should be a Blast! :):D

now that I've found it, breakfast is on me.

mennonite sausages, homemade bread, french toast with maple syrup, and eggs, eggs, eggs.

Good morning.

It's 47 and clear. The high should be in the upper 70's today and it will be sunny becoming partly cloudy later.

Last night was maintenance night at the Sundown Fire Dept. Two overhead fluorescent
light fixtures were replaced, the oil in two of the trucks was changed along with the fuel filters. Several small halogen floodlights were assembled and tested before being added to the stations equipment. All the generators and what seemed like miles of electrical cords were checked and all the pumps were checked for leaks. All in all a busy evening.

Mornin' everyone!

Happy All Halo's Eve! Not to mention a blessed All Saints Day tomorrow.

It was in the high 40's when i got up this morning and is not at the high for the day at 61°F. Nice and sunny out there as well. I have to clean up the porch, and put some stuff away before Trick or Treating starts tonight. I also need to start cleaning the house. It's not too bad actually considering that I last cleaned it in August....... Oh well (well I have done some stuff, but not really cleaned).

Have a great Fall day!

Jeffrey Now't wrong with a bit of preventative maintenance, you can get LED bulbs for Halogen lamps now, save's money in the long run.

Chris Happy spooking tonight, i'll be owt there with the children tonight, and it's dry for a change

Have a safe Haloween

Happy Haloween Friday everyone,

Just figured I'd pop in and let you all know I'm still alive & kickin'! Been really busy both at work and in the trainroom, and asking "research" questions on the forum - so that doesn't leave me much time for idle chitchat.

latenttrainfan - welcome to the Coffee Shop! I was following your 'getting started' thread earlier. We DO in fact have at least one other woman on this forum: Claudia, a.k.a. Lady_Railfan. She's into outdoors G scale modeling.

Chris - I, too, will be doing Halloween duty tonight. Since there are so few houses with young children in my neighborhood, I need to drive my two daughters to one of those newly-built "McMansion" subdivisions ~5 miles away to do their TrickOrTreating.

. . .
It's been winter-like here in Md as of late, and ironically, I was told to wear a short-sleeve shirt yesterday so I could get my free flu vaccination! I've already mentioned that I'm trying to make my layout presentable for guest operators - now all of a sudden new glitches are popping up, such as a block control switch that failed the other night. (I am on DCC now but the block circuits are still there, I just have all the switches turned "on".) I unfastened the panel and held a VOM to it and both sides showed 12.5VAC, and I thought, 'That can't be right' so I put a loco on the dead track to test it - and the headlight came on. So apparently there was a kink in the wire or something, because when I tried restoring the panel the problem block went dead again. So I ended up repositioning the panel ~4 inches below from where I originally had it.
