Geeeezus!! Those wheels just sunk down into the rails. How hot must that have been to do that?
 
Ive seen these before. Yes FVL your correct, that is the same incident. It happened in Alabama and was started prior to the train crossing it. The ties were rubber if i remember right. Look at the rail below the pilot plow on the lead locomotive, it melted the weld!
 
Thats insane and quite tragic. Of all the places for the locomotive to stop. It had to be right over the fire. The hot rails could have had something to do with helping to stop the momentum. It must have been a pretty massive fire before the locomotives entered into it. Im supprised authorities werent already on thier way before the train came along.
