Made a trip to New Orleans on Sat. to take the wife to the Botanical Gardens. In researching the trip, I realized the Canal St. streetcar line ran to City Park where the Botanical Gardens are. All day unlimited ride pass was $5.

The red cars are modern versions of traditional cars and run on the Riverfront and Canal Street lines.

The green cars are the original cars from the 20's and run on the St. Charles St. line.

Spent about 5 hours riding all of the lines.

The one in your last pic looks similar to the ones running in Little Rock, from downtown LR to North LR over the Arkansas River.

Very cool, thanks for sharing the pics. Those street cars are classy looking. Would be neat to model those.

btw, it's pronounced "Na'lens" LOL

Glenn: They are fun to ride; just sit back and enjoy. I didn't have your pleasure of riding all the routes, but did have loads of fun. My brother lived in the NO metro (Destrehan) for 35 years and I always loved the tours when I visited, particularly if I got to ride the clang-clang.

Michael: Btw, the pronunciation depends on what part of New Orleans or Louisiana your from and the ethnic background. Some say Na'ahlens, New Or-lens, New Or-leens, and yours...Na'lens. Crazy place and just like a different world...I love it!

We could make a big time ARG weekend with a trip to NOLA and an ops session on the WC&W.

CJ, the red cars are the "new" ones built in the last 10 or 12 years.
