Hello all,

My name is Paul, I'm from PA and I'm new here, new to HO(almost), but not MRR. My dad was a huge N scale modeler so I've worked in N on and off since preteens to age 36. Through the years I have moved several times and built several N layouts of various sizes. I once built a 10'X18" HO layout INSIDE my dads 26'x42' n scale layout. However, I NEVER got past plaster white Mountains!
This past summer my wife and I sold our townhouse and bought a single family house we intend to be in for a long time. My train room in the basement is finished, with old ugly carpet, great paneling ala the 80's, a drop ceiling and is 12' x 18', not huge, but comfortable and ugly enough my wife won't get mad if I splatter solder on the carpet. My new layout is going to be a 12'x12' u shape built in 3 stages. (I'd post a track plan I made with Right Track software if I knew how). I am modeling the Craig branch of the DRGW. I am determined to finally get to the point of detailed (I know enough not to say finished) scenery. I'm sure I'll need plenty of help and inspiration. Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself.

Hi Paul and congrats on the new home. Don't let a little thing like white plaster mountains bother you. I've got a scenic area that has been in raw plaster for about 30 years and pass it off as snow when the critics mention it.

Hello, Paul, and welcome aboard. I think Right Track allows you to save track plans as JPG files. You can then post it here using the Go Advanced button at the bottom of the reply box. Check the sticky post about posting pictures in the first section of the forum. If you helped your dad with a 26' x 42' N scale layout and built a 10'18' HO layout inside that monster, you should already have many of the skills you need for your next layout.
