I am just using smooth wire. Haven't figured out how to dull it down, probably with time will tarnish some

Got some pics of the finished section house and fence:

here is a close up of the fence. I used scale 8 x 8's and carved them a little, also a little washed down paint for variety. Cross piece on top is "
pipe", the way the Amish build.

I kinda drybrush with brown or rust colored paint. Not completely but enough to give it that slightly rusted look. You're correct that time will allow it to tarnish, more so in high humidity air. I'll have to get a picture when I remember.
